Originally, writer Jim Kouf set out to write, in his words, "a small movie about two guys in a room. I had an idea about a comedy, about two cops... and the concept of a stakeout intrigued me. What if one of the cops falls in love with the woman he's assigned to watch?"Rewind Archive
"Stakeout" is really the first time that I play an adult character on the screen," commented Emilio Estevez. "Also, I had never really done comedy before, so this film was a real learning experience for me.
