Wanna see the real life filming location used for Supermarket where Chria & Maria meet in the movie?

These scenes were actually shot at Sunshine Market, located at 4600 Lakeshore Rd. in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

Shot in and around the picturesque Canadian city of Vancouver, the filming of "Stakeout" took cast and crew to a number of the area's more unusual spots, including Riverview Hospital, a psychiatric facility seen at the beginning of the film, and the B.C. Penitentiary, an abandoned maximum security prison that has since been turned into a commercial/residential development. The "Stakeout" company also utilized the Oakalla Lower Mainland Correctional Facility, the first time the institution has even been used in a film.

When the movie Stakeout was being filmed at Oakalla Prison in Burnaby, BC I was working as a guard and the unit I worked in overlooked the wing used in the film. The wing was only used on weekends for part-time inmates. I remember the regular inmates in the gaol all getting Wendy's meals, provided by the film company, so they would not get upset about the noise. A treat that was well received. I also remember the inmates jokingly telling the film crew if they wanted a real riot to film they would be happy to oblige. [Thanks to Dan Port]

To film the dramatic chase and fight scenes at the beginning of the film between Chris Lecce and suspect, cast and crew spent an aromatic week on the Campbell Avenue Fish Wharf, an industrial site consisting of ten fish processing plants.

The suspense-filled climax of "Stakeout" was shot at the Pattar Sawmills, a ghostly lumber yard situated on the Fraser River, 30 minutes outside of Vancouver.

Additional locations used in bringing "Stakeout" to the screen were the Agassiz Rosedale Bridge, the site of "Stick" and his accomplice Caylor's explosive confrontation with the police; the Normal School, an empty school completely redressed to represent a fully operational police station; the Sunshine Market in downtown Vancouver, where Chris and Maria meet accidentally; and apartments located in the West End and False Creek areas of the city which doubled as Chris and Bill's apartments, respectively.

Maria McGuire's address: 2221 Stephens St, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada (Note, the house is painted blue now.) [Thanks to nh]
