The guy who plays Sam's mistress's dumb boyfriend Earl Mott is Bill Pullman who was also in Spaceballs (1987) as Lone Starr.

Helen Slater also played Supergirl in the movie of the same name.

Judge Reinhold's character, Ken Kessler, works in a Hi-Fi store. In real life Ken Kessler is the name of a famous veteran Hi-Fi journalist.

Near the end of the credits is the line "I Love Wrong Numbers", referring to a scene earlier in the movie where Sam Stone gets a wrong number on the phone and plays a vulgar prank to it.
