Marjoe Gortner, as I have mentioned already, was a child evangelist by the age of four --and had traversed the religious revival circuits but had become disenchanted when he proved all of his spiritual mentors as major fakes; he then turned to acting.

Marjoe Gortner was also the main character in the small budget movie "Food of the Gods", based on the H.G. Wells novel of the same name. Written in the early 1900s, a book to which most oversized animal creature features can pay homage (ie: "Them" or heaven forbid that early 70s flop "Frogs").
