In what may be seen as a small tribute to Warner Brothers, the distributor of "Thunderdome", Max finds an old pull-the-string-and-he-talks Bugs Bunny doll while talking to the kids.
You notice that the gyro pilot (
Bruce Spence) from "
Mad Max 2 / The Road Warrior" is also in Beyond Thunderdome. However, when Max meets him in MM3 he doesn't appear to recognise him... surely he'd remember the captain who saved his life and shared in his adventures for the entire course of the 2nd film? It's never made clear in the 3rd film whether he's the same character or not?

When Max is asked to check his guns at the door of Bartertown, one of arsenal that he lays on the table is Bubba Zannetti's Luger from the first movie.
