Tina Turner was supposed to be scripted to drive a vehicle, but she wasn't comfortable with the vehicles used in this movie, so the filmmakers had to use a special automatic.

Tina Turner stated in the interview that accompanies her 60th birthday concert (on DVD as The Best of Tina Turner: Celebrate!(yr.: 2000)) that actress Bette Midler was supposed to have played Aunty Entity but was unavailable.
