Score Trivia The music used throughout The Shining is the third movement from Bela Bartok's "Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta", Polish avant-garde composer Krzystoff Penderecki's Polymorphia, de Natura Sonoris 1 and 2, the Awakening of Jacob and Utrenja and Lontano by Gyorgy Ligeti.
