There are actually 2 versions of this film. The 2nd version or "extended version" has a few extra scenes, including one featuring a discussion btween J. Frank Parnell and Otto's friend Kevin at the Gas station/Car wash and vacuum. They discuss the quality of vending machine food vs. food from the "Del Taco" across the street.

The television edited version contains footage not seen on the VHS, DVD releases. There is a reposession scene, a smashing of a phone booth and more. Much of the bad language was removed from the TV version as well as a seen of Otto and Bud snorting what looks to be cocaine. Director Alex Cox said after editing out the language the film had become so short that deleted scenes had to be included for the TV release in order to make up the time.
