Thanks to AnonymousRexMystic Pizza actually exists in Mystic, Connecticut. Writer Amy Jones was holidaying in the area one summer and the pizza place caught her eye and became the focus and setting for her story about the lives of the three waitresses. The movie, of course, used the Borough of Stonington instead for the setting of the movie.
Thanks to NicoleJulia Roberts originally read the lines for the part of "JoJo" but then got cast as "Daisy"
Thanks to Christopher PeakWhen JoJo is arguing with Bill while he is on his boat, the store in the background is Noyes Dry Goods, my family opened the store in the 1860's, unfortunately it was sold in the early 90's.
The "upstairs scenes" in Kat & Daisy's house were filmed in another house (I think they were upstairs in JoJo's house) because the hallway was too dark and narrow to allow for filming. Also, the wallpaper in Kat & Daisy's kitchen was "too blue" and was changed for the purposes of filming. The green, orange and white afghan on the back of Kat & Daisy's couch was crocheted by the mother of the family that lived there. Melanie Griffith's brother Clay drove the truck that supplied mobile power for filming on location.

Thanks to AnonymousJulia, who is/was famous for falling for people on the set, had just finished a movie with Liam Neeson & was having a thing with him and was visited by him on the set. At the same time, she was having an affair with one of the grips -I won't mention his name, cuz he was married!
There are often scenes cut from the final version of a movie. Sometimes these will have been seen by preview audiences, or be included in Blu-ray or DVD extras etc.
The following missing scenes from Mystic Pizza are believed legit. If you disagree or have additional info, please update us.
Next Section: Alternate Versions
Thanks to AnonymousThere was a scene where Daisy & Charlie are out to dinner. She is wearing a black velvet dress with a white silk bow. (I own one of the 3 dresses we used in this scene & made the bows for all three of them). Daisy bought the too expensive dress with the intention of returning it to the store after she wore it. The deleted scene involves Charlie inadvertently spilling a drink on the dress at dinner. She is very upset (becuase the dress is ruined, she won't be able to return it & cannot afford it) & runs out of the resuarant. There was another scene that followed where charlie buys another dress like this & brings it to her (in a gift box) at the pizza place.
Sometimes, there will be several versions of a movie floating about on cable, tv or video etc. Other times, a Director may release a special cut of the movie on Blu-ray or DVD.
