In 1973, the Zelepo's opened Mystic Pizza with a secret recipe that led them to success. The walls of the real Mystic Pizza are covered in photographs which had been taken during production. Although it doesn't look anything like the one in the movie, it became so popular that it could barely keep up with the pizza demand. People lined up on the sidewalk to eat at this place. Menus and matches were disappearing all the time. Not too long ago, a line of frozen pizzas was developed that matches the Mystic Pizza recipe. They are only available in the States.

William R. Moses (Tim) played Cole in Falkon Crest.

In the scene where Jojo is arguing with Bill as his fishing boat is heading out to sea, the boat is actually going up river. This is well hidden, but the eagle eyed Mystic residents have noticed.

In Mystic Pizza, JoJo (Lily Taylor) has issues with marrying her boyfriend (Vincent D'Onofrio) However, in the film "Household Saints", Lily Taylor plays Therese Santangelo to Vincint D'Onofrio's Joseph Santangelo...except that she plays his DAUGHTER!

Lily Taylor has also starred in "Say Anything with John Cusack, as the Joe obsessed aspiring singer ("I have 65 songs and they are all about Joe..."). Judging from her name in Mystic Pizza, her father's name in Household Saints and Joe from Say Anything as her obsession...am I seeing a pattern here?

Vincent D'Onofrio played the character of Bill in Mystic Pizza and Bill Newman in both JFK (1991) AND Malcolm X (1992). He now stars as Det. Robert Goren on Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Bill (Vincent D'Onofrio), of course also plays a very blonde "Thor" from another great 80's movie, "Adventures in Babysitting", but didn't gain name-recognition until he played the bug-ugly alien 'Edgar' in 1997's "Men In Black".
