Go behind the scenes and learn what went on during the making of the 1980
Dance / Music movie starring Irene Cara, Lee Curreri, Laura Dean et al.
The original production title of "Fame" was "Hot Lunch"! But the title was changed because director
Alan Parker heard of an adult film called "Hot Lunch", and decided that "Fame" was a more appropriate title.
Gene Anthony Ray had landed the role of LeRoy, at age 17, after skipping school to attend the audition.
Valerie Landsburg who plays "Doris" in the tv series auditioned for the movie but Maureen Teefy got the part.
Irene Cara Recalls about Director Alan Parker:
"Alan was very serious about being as real as possible.
A lot of the scenes were filmed when we didn't know the cameras were running so that he could capture a lot of our real, organic rapor with each other"

Deleted Scenes
When movies are made, scenes are often
left on the cutting room floor.
Sometimes, there will be several versions
of a movie floating about on cable, tv or video etc. Other times, a Director may
release a special cut of the movie.
