Behind The Scenes of Back To The Beach Movie.

Go behind the scenes and learn what went on during the making of the 1987 Dance / Music movie starring Frankie Avalon, Annette Funicello, Lori Loughlin et al.

Just before filming began, Annette Funicello was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She was determined not to let it stop her and requested that her husband tell no one on the set.

The beach scenes were filmed at the Boardwalk on Santa Cruz Beach.

The beach scenes were filmed at night at Westward Beach in Malibu. I was an extra in this film just after I graduated from Pepperdine. Everyone on the set who was in the flim industry said this was one of the funnest movies they had ever worked on. The whole cast mixed at meals and were very low key and outgoing. The producer was Frank Mancuso, Jr. who at the time was newly married. Dancing on the picnic table was really the highlight for me. Kind of strange in the middle of the night but it was a blast.
