Under their watchful eye, the following special places were used for filming "Twins":
Twins was filmed at authentic Californian locations including Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA.
Vincent Benedict's (Danny DeVito) house is at 323 11th Street in Santa Monica, CA [Thanks to Dee83]
The street they drove down when they first got into New Mexico (narrow, with colorful houses) is Ledoux Street in Taos, just West of the Plaza.
The roadside cafe, with the beautiful valley in the background is on Hwy 150 (the road to Taos Ski Valley), Northeast of Taos, actually in Valdez/Arroyo Seco. It had been a gas station years ago, converted by film crew to 'cafe' for the movie. The valley in the background is the entrance to Taos Ski Valley.
By the way, poetic license... They cross the Rio Grande Gorge bridge 'on the way' to New Mexico. It is actually just 10 miles or so Northwest of Taos.
The "colony in Santa Fe" is actually the Mabel Dodge Luhan House, a hotel near Taos. [Thanks to Peter]
The Plaza where the Twins go shopping for Arnold's new clothes in in the Old Town Plaza of Santa Fe. When they walk in the street in their new suits, the St Francis Catholic Church (East end of the Plaza) is their backdrop. The La Fonda hotel is on the right (stage left). [Thanks to David Fore for the excellent New Mexico info]
The Motel where they stayed at after they got their suits Is the Sun God Lodge in Taos New Mexico. [Thanks to Vic Valdez}
Other locations included Houston, TX; Los Alamos, NM; Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, Taos, NM and The Plaza, Santa Fe, NM.
The twins father's house (the part where arnold Schwarzenegger's character walks up a driveway to meet him) is in San Marino, CA. on Lake Blvd. [Thanks to Mike Flores]
Can you help? Do you know any of the Los Angeles, (or any other) filming locations used for Twins, particularly Vincents House, The Supermarket, The "McKinley Corp" finale location, "Whispering Pines" colony in Santa Fe etc? Please Update Us
Locations LinksIf you know of a good link for Twins locations, please let us know.
Next Section: LX Preview
LX is our radical new locations feature that we've been beavering away on.. For years!
Each location will have it's own page with then/now pictures, maps, StreetView, discovery story and the most detailed explanations on how the location was used. Most importantly, the locations will have a status that shows whether they are verified correct and by whom. We are working with the actual locations managers or other crew where possible. The whole thing will be very interactive and you will, of course, be able to update everything.
We are pleased to be able to bring you a sneak peek at what LX locations will be available for Twins upon release:
The "McKinley Corp" finale location
"Whispering Pines" colony in Santa Fe
Please Note: The status of some entries in this preview may be wrong because they are in-progress or need updating before release.
