During the battle against the Imperial Walkers, when Luke and a couple of the other rebel fighters are flying past the Walkers, you can actually see the Walkers right through Luke and the others. Watch the Walkers in the background and you can see that Luke is transparent during some of these shots.

There's a scene at the Hoth rebel base where Han and Leia are talking in the hallway. Leia says, "I don't know what you're talking about," and Han replies, "You probably wouldn't." And then he walks down the hall and turns the corner. If you watch closely, you can see that as soon as Han turns the corner, he immediately spins around and starts to walk back, as if he wants to go back and do the scene over again.

In a scene immediately following Vader telling his men to "set your course for the Hoth system", we cut to a Rebel commander instructing two men. The quoted dialogue is: "Group 7 and 10 will stay behind to fly the speeders. As soon as each transport is loaded, Evacuation Control will give clearance for immediate launch". In the background to this, Conceptual Artist Ralph McQuarrie walks by in snow Rebel uniform, carrying his drawing portfolio under his arm.

In the carbon freezing chamber, after Luke knocks Vader off the platform, he jumps down after him. The sound editing makes it seem that Luke dropped a long way, but then you see Mark Hamill's head pop up at the place he actually landed.

During the surface attack on Hoth, just after Vader appears as an hologram and the guy in the walker says "yes lord vader the shield will be down in moments, you may start your landing" The scene then goes to Luke in his speeder and he his saying "Rogue three" the scene then flick to another guy in a speeder and he says "copy rogue leader" at this point you can clearly see a human hand in the background of the speeder trying to get out of camera.

-Although Gerald wrote in to say:

Snowspeeders are two man crafts so the hand seen behind Wedge Antilles would be the second person who operates the tow cable. This is NOT a goof.

Bogus Blunders

Sometimes an apparent goof is not a real mistake

The following goofs for "The Empire Strikes Back" are apparently bogus. If you disagree or have additional info, please update us.

This mistake actually spans from Empire to Jedi... When Solo is frozen in carbonite, he is wearing a untucked buttoned down shirt. But when Leia releases him from the carbonite in Jabba's palace, he is wearing a tucked in double breasted shirt.

But, kindly wrote in to say that it's actually the same double-breasted shirt as he's wearing at the end of The Empire Strikes Back.
