There has been quite a bit of discrepancy about where "The Point" actually is. Some people have said Sherman Oaks - Van Nuys Park. Some have said The Encino Little League Fields. Neither is correct. Quite a few people have said the Encino Franklin Fields off Oxnard St. I am here now and I believe this is the place. Aesthetically it is a perfect match. Brick wall and all.
The little league complex dugouts have wood backing and the wrong structure. The park has NO sunken dugouts at all.
The franklin fields are virtually unchanged.
The Point from Fast Times where Ron takes stacey is located at:
ENCINO FRANKLIN FIELDS
17301 Oxnard St. Encino CA

Great work Jim! [Smile] This is one of those locations where there is just so much wrong info on the web

Although it might seem that there's not much going on here at the site in terms of progress, behind the scenes we're still working hard on our new community locations feature where ppl will be able to share and debate the movie locations from these classic movies... Together we can find 'em all...

This will be coupled with a complete refresh making the site "mobile friendly"

Does anyone think that a movie locations section on these forums would be useful?

I think that would be really cool and bring added traffic to the site. Keep up the great work and great ideas!

Nice find if that is in fact the dugout. I like looking back at old movie locations from the 80's.

I saw some pictures from the director Kevin Smith and he was standing in the outfield where Lupus stood in the Bad News Bears. That was a great find too.
