"A team of scientists aboard the International Space Station discover a rapidly evolving life form that caused extinction on Mars and now threatens all life on Earth."

A nice looking, but pretty forgettable, Sci-fi Horror. -

A bit over hyped but still entertaining 2016 horror thriller which features a cool setting (derelict part of Detroit),a good cast though other than Stephen Lang who plays the blind veteran there all new to me and a fun but progressively daft storyline this was rather entertaining overall and made for a fun 1 hour 28 minutes.

I'd say Certainly worth checking out 7.5/10

30 minutes into this 2016 horror thriller I thought I was watching a gem of a new flick but just as I was thinking that it took a downwards turn with one too many ridiculous moments to follow and an ending that was just too bizarre to comprehend!

Still the cast was great as was the bleak looking Minnesota winter setting!

Many folk raving on about this one but it didn't quite cut it for me and from reading all the hype prior to viewing just made it all the more disappointing!

6/10

They Came From Beyond Space (1967) - Very different in tone to most other stuff from Amicus. Really zany but a whole heap of fun. It feels like a mixture of the sci-fi TV shows from that decade. 7/10

Starry Eyes (2014) - I'm glad I knew next to nothing about this going into it. Dark, depressing and grubby. I need a bath now. 7/10

Maniac Cop 2 is very enjoyable, part 3 not so much but it still has its moments and features some spectacular stunt work!

Both of the Conjuring movies also Helen are worth checking out and I agree Dead Silence is a pretty solid watch!

I actually like Maniac Cop 2 more than 1, but I'm not really a fan of the series.

I am now convinced that our Helen has been replaced by that pod under her bed. The evidence:

Idle Hands--7. It's okay--maybe fun--and a young Jessica Alba is nice to look at, but not a 7!

They Came from Outer Space--7. Such a cheap and dismal film, despite the great ideas. Amicus should have never tried sci-fi. A 7? Nope.

Blood of Dracula's Castle--6. OK, I'll admit that I have always had a soft spot for the stupidity that is this film. Cheap, goofy, some bondage, John Carradine, added werewolf footage in the TV version... OK, fun it is!

Madmen of Mandoras--6. Also known as the precursor of They Saved Hitler's Brain--and actually a better film because it doesn't have the added padding. Fun, for sure.

And Don't Look Now--7. One of the greatest British films of all-time, an uncontested classic, usually finishes in the top 10 of any poll of best UK films...a 7??? A 7??? ROFLMAO

Seriously, I realize that Nic Roeg's films are an acquired taste for sure, but this one is a masterpiece. I love almost every one of his films, but this one is my favorite, just slightly ahead of Bad Timing: A Sensual Obsession.

Real Helen, are you still out there? [Smile] [Smile] [Smile]

Yeah what's happening helen [Confused] is that really you? LOL I can be excused for my high ratings as I have both bad taste and low standards,I even buy Eric Roberts movies [Big Grin]

Idle Hands Crash was surely an 8 perhaps an 8.5 [Razz]

Talking of Maniac Cop it looks as if it's getting the remake or direct sequel treatment http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2375737/?ref_=nm_flmg_prd_1 with William Lustig attached as producer.

Director Peter Hyams son John who was at the helm of the last couple of Universal Soldier movies is directing!
