Some people might need some time to reflect before watching a Corey Haim flick, but for me ... my way of dealing with his death is to pay tribute by watching his movies tonight.

Just finished with "The Lost Boys" and I'm now watching "License To Drive".

I did something similar with Chris Penn and Patrick Swayze and it really helped me. Something about seeing them at their 80's best just seemed more appropriate than listening to all news outlets mourn their deaths.

I was going to watch Lucas last night, but too many things distracted me. Maybe tonight, but it's going to be sad seeing the young Corey.

I find it sad watching people who've just passed. Something about seeing them so... 'alive' just makes it seem even worse that they're gone. I'll wait until I'm used to the idea, and then watch Lucas.

You would have hoped he could have followed Robert Downey jr's lead out of the abyss. Just thinking about Lucas, and not only Haim but Charlie Sheen seemed to have it all back then too. Just such wasted talent. I love that scene in Secret Admirer where the young Corey is making that cereal concoction with fruit loops and chocolate syrup, priceless.

I was going to watch Lost Boys last night but I've been sick with a cold for the past couple of days and just felt like going to bed early. I will probably have a little marathon this weekend though.

Not going to watch any tonight. I called all of my friends that love the old 80's and we are going to have a tribute marathon this Saturday and watch as many of Corey's movies as possible until Sunday night or we collapse.

License to Drive is my fave Haim movie but I watched "Blown Away" tonight with the gf for the first time and we both loved it. Haim and Nicole Eggert made a great couple, Feldmans sleazy hair ... not so great. [Big Grin]

My pic is going to be Lost Boys, don't know if I will get to see it tonight. I might have a marathon with it and License to Drive for Friday Night Flicks. I will always remember him as the young Corey, not as he looked when he died.

Damn, I never did get a copy of Licence on DVD, my old VHS will have to suffice. I know I have a bunch of lesser know Corey movies that I picked up over the years that I haven't properly watched yet like Dream Machine and some others. Never did get a copy of Watchers. I watched First Born recently too. It's still hasn't really sunk in yet.

Veronica, you can pick it up for $12.99 here.

CDWOW License To Drive

I've just bought my region free copy off Amazon and it'll be the first time I've seen this movie in about 18 years. I don't remember it that well, but recall it being quite good.

Kash.. I think you will really enjoy "License To Drive"! It is an example of how you want to remember Corey Haim. the movie is a blast from start to finish and there are a few scenes that will actually make you laugh out loud.

on the flipside.. anyone watching "Lucas" tonight is braver than I.. I'd be bawling at the end for sure.

Shamefully, today I picked up a second copy of "License To Drive" for $5...I knew there was another one on the rack where I got mine...I was gonna put it on ebay but changed my mind...felt too guilty profiting from his death, especially considering the latest news of his friends autioning off his belongings to help pay for his funeral. I was raised better than that. So as my tribute to a great young actor, I'm offering my second copy to a Rewinder...free of charge, someone I know who will honor Corey's memory by enjoying his movie once in a while...I'll even pay for the shipping (as long as it's under $10...I'm kind, not rich). Sorry...no new Rewinders for this one...a senior whose been on here for a while and someone who genuinely loved Corey's movies and would never think to re-sell for a profit. It's brand new, sealed, Region 1, special edition. * I'll offer it first to Veronica Sawyer, who first mentioned it and started the RIP thread...if Veronica already has one...Riptide gets second dibbs (fello Maritimer)...if both already have a copy...the first senior Rewinder to PM me, who genuinely needs a copy - on your honor).

@ kevdugp73: I think it's a beautiful thing to do. It would make a nice tradition.

I hate the idea of people hocking Corey's stuff to pay for a funeral. Surely someone like Feldman or Schumacher could pony up the cash?

I watched some bits of 'The Two Coreys' on Youtube recently (2nd season). Man, that was hard to watch. There seemed to be some pretty murky waters between them, and I think Feldman wanted shot of Haim. Even tougher to see in hindsight.

I agree logan5...there's been tons of "The Two Corey's" re-runs, and I used to like watching the show, but after Haim's death, the appeal is gone for me as well. And ditto re: someone not coming forward to pay for his funeral. When I watched the 1/2 episode of The Two Coreys, couldn't help but notice Feldman's giant mansion...tell me he couldn't cough up $10 - $15 grand for his best friends funeral?
