Has anyone ever seen this film? Did anyone notice that the continuity was ALL off? Robert Downey jr was chubby to stert, then thin, his clothes kept changing during the scenes and Molly Ringwalds hair was different in every shot!

Devolution here,

Not one of my favorite movies. I felt like this was a last gasp attempt to make Molly Ringwald as cool as she was.

I hated it too...and at the time I really liked both of them...so I wanted to like it.
A friend warned me it wasnt up to par but I rented it anyway. D'oh!
No, I didnt notice that the two leads keep changing appearences throughout the movie....and I'm "scared" to rent it again!

I liked it...I even wrote a review on the movie that I'm waiting to see go up on the Rewind (hint, hint, moderators;).)

I liked seeing Ringwald as a worldly teenager (she was 19 when the movie was released, so she was still a teen when it was made). Downey was good and I enjoyed Dennis Hopper's performance as Ringwald's father. The script was also a great one...Full of cynical lines.

Sincerely,

John Kilduff

It did had some moments of charm, even though Mollymania took a hit with this film. I have a deteriorating VHS of this, and am wonderig if I should get it on DVD just to give it another chance.

They should remake this and make it better. Instead of Hollywood watering down classic films with crappy remakes they should remake mediocre films and make them better. Just a thought.

I met the director few weeks ago, James Toback, who directed/made the new Mike Tyson Documentary. Cool and very straight forward gent.

It's a great film, with great actors. I guess Downey being a ho made some uncomfortable. I think it was a movie for grown-ups, watched mostly by teens when it came out. It took a while to grow on me.
