What guitarists are tops on your list? dead or alive?

1. Randy Rhoads-I'm a total Rhoads scholar, shudder to think what he would be doing today had he not gotten on that plane. RIP.

2. Jimi Hendrix-Still in awe of his playing when I watch his DVD's and listen to his cd's.

3. Eddie Van Halen-Just a total sonic freak, I just shake my head sometimes like I can't believe what I'm hearing.

4. The Edge-More rythm oriented, but just love his style and taste.

5, Jimmy Page-Genius.

Honourable mentions:

Stevie Ray Vaughn
John McGeoch(Siouxsie and the Banshees,Magazine)
Kevin Shields(My Bloody Valentine)
Ritchie Blackmore
Daniel Ash(Bauhaus, Love and Rockets)
Dimebag Darrell
Steve Vai
Johnny Marr(Smiths)
Frank Marino

This guy is one of the best guitarists that alot of people never heard of. His arpeggios and sweep picking is the best in the business! Here's a couple clips:
