In Raging Bull, Scorcese regular Frank Vincent (Salvi) receives a brutal beating courtesy of Joe Pesci. 10 years later, Mr. Vincent gets another beating from Pesci following the regrettable decision of telling him to "go get his shine box" in Goodfellas. However, in Scorsese's Casino (1995), Mr. Vincent finally got his revenge, beating Pesci to a pulp with a baseball bat.

Actress Teresa Saldana, who played Joe Pesci's wife, was almost killed when she was attacked with a knife by a deranged fan shortly after Raging Bull was released. Injuries sustained in the attack severely derailed her promising film career.
Scriptwriter Mardik Martin has a cameo as a copa waiter.

In the scene with Jack and Vicki in Joey's apartment, (just after the miniature golf scene), in the dining room, there are two pictures, one on either side of the doorway. To the right is the Virgin Mary and on the left is a picture of St Frances Xavier Cabrini, the patron Saint of those in search of a new home. Sent from Italy by Pope Leo to minister to the Italian immagrants. She was the first American saint.
