Action Jackson was filmed in Denver, Detroit and L.A.
Renaissance Center, 100 Renaissance Center, Detroit, Michigan, US. It's a really recognizable building, you can see it in the first minutes of the movie when Ed 'O Ross jumps out of the building.[Thanks to Relentless Flashbackin']
Joey's club, 7903 East Jefferson Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, USA. This is the Joey's Elite Club where Vanity sings. It was really hard to find but luckily the people at the Historical Detroit Area Architecture helped me locate the building that now is almost unrecognizable since all the art deco elements are gone. You can recognize the billboard structures and the chimneys behind the building that are the same as in 1987. The club was called My Fair Lady, The Lady, Joey's, The Nile and now it's closed since years. [Thanks to Relentless Flashbackin']
