When young Watson is trying to rescue Holmes from the fire within the pyramid AND prevent Rathe from kidnapping Elizabeth by halting the chariot with the grapling hook, he ties a rope to the chain that supports the wheel with the candles on which Holmes is lying unconcious. The chariot speeds away, pulls the rope and lifts the wheel...now, if you watch closely, when a shot of the pyramid's peak is shown, just before the rope stretches to its limit causing the disassembling of the chariot and the arrival of Holmes to the top, you can clearly see FINGERS of a HAND, helping the rope to slide properly over the broken pyramid's edge.

When Holmes goes for a duel with Rathe, just before Elizabeth has been shot, preventing the bullet from hitting him, he grabs a perfectly intact 17th century saber that was conveniently lying on the floor of a 19th century London pier...Now, WHERE did it come from?
