How did this movie miss getting released in the 80's?  It oozes 80's afterglow with Andrew 'Dice' Clay as rock 'n roll detective Ford Fairlane.

"You're 10 seconds away from the most embarrassing moment in your life."

The key to enjoying "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane" is realize it never takes itself seriously .. so why should you.

Long before the Pussycat Dolls thanks to this movie we get a hot girl band called "The Pussycats" ...  Muffy might enjoy seeing one of her favs Pamela Segall as one its members.

And Lauren Holly is awesome as Ford Fairlane's assistant Jazz.  That black dress was wow!

Oh and how about the Morris Day sighting who was just incredible in "Purple Rain".

"Some people play hard to get. I play hard to want. "

Wait a second let's not forget  .. Wayne Newton, Priscilla Presley, Ed O'Neil, Gilbert Gottfried, Kari Wuhrer, Robert Englund, Tone Loc, Vince Neil, and Sheila E.

Paul.. you might be interested in the fact that Zuzu Petals was played by Maddie Corman - Keith's sister from "SKOW"

"Have a twinkie, snapperhead."

Hey.. I want that Koala Bear for a pet! Forget that.. I'll take the Sorority party instead..

One of my faves!

Let´s not forget about the nice score by Boris "Yello" Blank
and the soundtrack which is packed with great tunes.

In a perfect world this movie would´ve been a bigger hit
and Andrew "Dice" Clay a superstar!

Now what about a sequel?
I would love to see more rock´n roll detective adventures.
Renny and Andrew, are you listening??

aTomiK .. my thought is that "The Adventures of Ford Fairlane" missed its window. If it had been released in say 1987 it would be considered a classic.

I remember hearing that this was the worst movie ever, but I liked it a lot. It was written and directed by the same guys that made "Heathers."

Ford Fairlane was directed by Renny Harlin who directed Die Hard 2 and Cliffhanger.

I'm getting this one confused with Hudson Hawk. Daniel Waters did help write Ford Fairlane though, so there is a Heathers connection.

Hudson Hawk is far from the worst movie ever. it ain't gonna win no awards (unless there's an Emmy for Most Prominent Mention of Song Durations In A Motion Picture) but it's not that bad. The main issue I have with it is Richard E Grant and Sandra Bernhard as the two baddies - they are pretty cringeworthy. But the rest is kinda fun....

I liked this movie too-but I was a Dice fan from Casual Sex. I knew Lauren best as Julie on one of the daytime soaps-her marriage and quick divorce from Jim Carrey always seemed like a set up to me, so not a fan.

I seen this movie when it came out in theaters!!!
Was so excited when I found it on DVD(in the $5 bin at wal-mart...WHATS UP WITH THAT!?!?). Wife said I watched it wayyyy to much, maybe she was right! EVERY friday night for over a year and a half!!!
I "knew" every line word for word and finally had to stop watching it so that I could start to miss it for awhile!

Devolution here,

I could have been anything, I could have been Ford Fairlane, the fisherman's detective. Hey Ford, someone sabotaged my bait. Hey Ford, someone switched one of the lures in my tacklebox.

Not to mention Cradle of Love for best video in 1990. No Doubt.

We are DEVO
