Anyone remember this? Great, sun soaked cop show like 'Miami Vice' meets 'Cover Up' but cheesier than both. Now I probably wouldn't have set out to see this, but it occupied such an ideal time slot that I caught the first few episodes almost by default before it became compulsive viewing.

Ex-DEA man turned laid-back PI Nick Slaughter teams up with sassy travel agent Sylvie Gerard to solve crimes on the tropics of Key Mariah, Florida.

So bad its good TV doesn't get any better (or worse) though 'Tropical Heat' was made in 1991 it may as well be 1985. Better than 'Baywatch', it was a show zapped with sun rays, half asleep under a palm tree twirling the blue paper umbrella from its pineapple frappe.

I've not seen every episode as they started showing them randomly after awhile, but season 1 was the strongest: great banter, good action.

And here's a tropical treat for any Rachel Weisz fans out there: Rachel, or Kenya Campbell she was then known, guest starring in what can only be described as 'Amateur Hour with Academy award winner Rachel Weisz'. New actors take heart, if she can become good, so can you: We've all got to start somewhere.

Someone must remember this, it's a crime if you've lived your whole life and never seen this show, its almost as bad as never having seen 'Renegade'.

[Big Grin] 80'sRocked, let you off with a warning this time, after all, its a minor misdemenor compared to the criminal levels of overacting in this show. It was a good series though, must find out if its on DVD.
