Some people that just stayed here told me they love this movie, and that I should watch it. It sounded pretty good. Has anyone seen it? It is based on a Steven King book.

I liked it.
Entertaining haunted house TV mini-series.

I'll be honest--I love Stephen King, and I usually love movies based off of his books, but I didn't think Rose Red was all that good. It wasn't bad or anything, I just didn't really care for it.

I actually live close to where they filmed this movie. I went dressed up in costume to a local premiere they had at the hotel. I was even on the local news. But in all honesty, I thought the movie was pretty boring.......that's just me. The house is beautiful though.

I read Stephen King religiously but like some others said this movie was disappointing IMO. I've found that with several of his books turned into movies and not just this one........

WOW! That place is beautiful. That would have been a cool thing to go to.

What tragic accident did Stephen King have? It says about that on the website, but doesn't say what that was...does anyone know?

Did he write the book with this place in mind?

Are you talking about when he was hit by a van?

I forgot about the van thing. Does anyone remember the details?

He was walking along the side of the road when a drunk driver hit him. The driver was apparantly distracted by a dog in the back of the van.

Mr King was very lucky to survive.

I adore Stephen King books. The first I ever read was "It" back when I was 15 - wow, what an introduction!

I liked Rose Red, for a TV mini series, it was pretty good. And I like Nancy Travis too. Another mini series he wrote, which was even better than Rose Red, was "Storm of the Century".
A very scary movie.

I liked Storm of the Century, too.

Storm of the century is amazing. In my top 3 Stephen King films. I watch so many horrors that I'm just immune to them scaring, but the last 45 mins or so especially of Storm is really chilling.
