Film from early 90's - trailers show an angel with full wings crashing through a window, another scene with the angel standing on a spire overlooking a city panorama. It's not the movie with nicolas cage.

Could be the German film Cage's was based on, the name of which escapes me at the moment. Or, it could be John Travolta's Michael, although I don't recall him overlooking a cityscape at any point.
