I saw on the TV Guide channel them doing behind the scenes stuff on the making of Toy Story 2, and those were such great movies. I totally still had hope that kids movies would stay cool.

I loved Woody and Buzz Lightyear as much as my son did when we watched those movies. They are probably the only movie that I remember with alot of nostalgia for when my son was really little and we first saw them.

I wonder why they never made another one, cause I thought part 2 was just as good, if not better than the first....it actually is one of the few sequels I thought they did a super job of. I can't understand why they haven't done more.

I saw previews for this stupid looking movie...it is called VALIANT....I think it is by Pixar...it was on the Muppet Show season 1....and it looks horrible...it looks so stupid...the only thing I could figure that was appealing about it was they used the song "Danger Zone" in it. But, I have seen all these nutty cartooney things at different previews at the movies and they all are dumb, and nobody's laughing...I can't understand who does the writing for this stuff, do they really think it is funny stuff. Cause I actually think I have a good sense of humor, and I know funny stuff when I hear it, so I think...do other people really think that is funny? Ick.

What???? A 2008 release...geez. like I really can hardly wait now to get through 2 more years of life just to see that movie. Geez, I want my life to pass by me at the speed of a Buzz Lightyear. [Roll Eyes] [Eek!] [Confused]

It doesn't say that Tim Allen and Tom Hanks are doing the voices again.

In fact, the proposed 3rd one was one of the major rifts with Pixar's relationship with Disney over the last few years, as they started the process of pre-production on it while their contract was still in limbo. I'm not sure if Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will return a third time, and certainly they'll need a new Slinky Dog with Jim Varney six feet under, knowhutimean? (I just had to throw that in there)

Valiant wasn't a Pixar film; it was made by some up and coming British company. Aparently Disney had a bad feeling with it, as they never did put it in theaters as proposed.

On a more positive note, the first Toy Story was recently added to the National Register of Historic Films, a great honor for a film only 10 years old. And believe me, it's more than worthy of it. As is part 2, one of the best sequels EVER. They took the time to write out a story each time, and it pays off well. I've rarely seen a more engaging group of voice talents than the ones we get here with these flicks (has there been a Pixar film John Ratzenberger HASN'T been in yet?).

I saw Toy Story in a movie theatre with my sister and her kids . I enjoyed it even more than the kids did! I made my boyfriend go see it with me again two days later.
I have both the videos (Am I the only one why crys when the Jessie doll sings that Sarah Machlaughlin song????) and watch 'em all the time. Those are kid videos that I really can enjoy (Some kid videos make me run screaming. BARNEY, TELETUBBIES. etc.)
I would definately see a Part 3.

(VALIANT does look poor in comparison. I think I'll go on www.rottentomatoes.com and see what they have to say.

VALIANT'S ROTTEN TOMATOES SCORE:

GOOD: 24 votes
BAD: 73 votes

They said it was mediocre and forgetable.

These really were great movies! I love the animation, it felt so much more personal. The story was so original and nothing like we had ever seen when it came out in 1995!

I liked the sequal too but I didn't like the addition of cowboy gang people too much.

I am going to assumes that they wanted Wayne Knight to do the voice of the Al so they just drew a picture up to look like him because it totally did.

That matches all that I've heard.

Well, what an unpleasant surprise!

Then again, it wouldn't have made much difference -- I wouldn't have seen it without John Ratzenburger... [Frown]

I have both Toy Story as well as Toy Story 2 on video.

The first was genuinely second to none. I haven't as yet seen the sequel.
