I watched this movie last night, it was on the USA channel, and my mom just got done reading Hannibal, so she wanted to see it. I was thinking as I watched it that I had seen it before, but then I remembered what I saw was Manhunter, which was the prequel to Silence of the Lambs, and was made before Red Dragon, but it is the same movie.

I thought Edward Norton's character was boring in this movie, he talked like he was reading his lines right off a prompter, and everything he said was so scripted, and he never changed the tone of his voice or anything, he was totally boring.

Anthony Hopkins was still pretty creepy...but the Silence of the Lambs is the best Hannibal Lecter character he ever did, my mom said in Silence of the Lambs he only had a total of 16 minutes of screen time.

I did go see Hannibal at the movies, and it was too gross for me, I had my head under my coat half the time, some times I wish that I hadn't watched certain movies cause I can't get the images of them out of my mind, and that was one of them.

I liked him in Primal Fear...and I do like him as an actor, but not this time around, he was boring. Sorry, but I have to say it is so- [Wink]

Don't be sorry Isis, I respect that. I know you're not really a fan of violence/language, but did you ever see American History X or the 25th hour? They may not be your cup of tea, but just figured I'd ask.

I have to agree with you Isis that Red Dragon was definitely not Norton's best movie (although I did like watching the movie - by far not as brilliant as Silence of the Lambs, but entertaining).
But - I actually think Norton is one of the most talented actors around presently. American History X was a deeply disturbing and brilliant movie, but you may not like it. But I can highly recommend for example Primal Fear (1996 with Richard Gere).

Toni- I did mention I liked Primal Fear, that was a really good movie.

That was his movie debute, so he did a great job.

But, in Red Dragon...there was no chemistry with him in his family, he elbowed his kid right in the head, and kept going, in the one scene, and his wife seemed on such a downer the whole time.

I wanna know...what was the Red Dragon, he tattooed the whole thing on his back-or was trying to, and he had pictures or paintings of it, that was weird as can be when he ate the picture....but it had horns like a ram (sheep) on it, and looked part man, I have no clue though what it was all about.
