Okay now I have to say that I am not a really big fan of this film but I caught a little of it at the gym this morning, so I figured why not make it my movie of the day.

This golf themed film starred Kevin Costner, Cheech Marin, Renee Russo, and Don Johnson. Kind of comparable to Costner's character in Bull Durham in my opinion, but Bull was much better. Follow a bunch of golf nuts through the chance of a lifetime, the opportunity to play in the US Open. Kevin's character blows it, but still winds up to be the hero. I actually did see this one at the movies, but it just isn't one of those that I can sit through every time it is on.

What do you guys think? Did you love this one or hate it, or just think it was okay?

It's funny that you mention it, because Kevin Costner was playing two weeks ago at the AT&T Open at Pebble Beach, Calif., with pro golfers teamed up with other show-biz celebrities and athletes of other sports.

Some of the famous non-golfer names who were playing there included: Kevin Costner, Chris Berman (of ESPN), Rush Limbaugh, Donald Trump, Glen Campbell, Huey Lewis, Kenny G, Craig T. Nelson, Michael Bolton, Samuel L. Jackson, Carson Daly, Gary Sinise, George Lopez, Ray Romano, Les Moonves (President of CBS-TV), Andy Garcia, and of course...Bill Murray!

Also, football players Jerry Rice, Lynn Swann, and Emmitt Smith were also there.

Sorry, nearly got carried away. Anyway, about the movie...it was okay. Nothing special.

You're right; Kevin's other sports movies Bull Durham, and for that matter, Field of Dreams, were far better. But Tin Cup wasn't all that bad, despite a miracle-type of ending.

I have always felt Don Johnson's character in the movie, kinda smarmy and arrogant, was pretty close to Don Johnson's own personality! [Smile]

Anyhow, I think this movie seemed like a good excuse for Costner, Johnson, Rene Russo, and Cheech Marin to hit the golf links and have a good time while making the movie! Nice work if you can get it. [Cool]
