I watched this movie last night, and it totally felt like an 80's movies. I thought it was hysterical. Talk about product placement in a movie. The guy gets a job as the janitor at Target-so they must have got a huge plug for that movie. And everything in the store was a name brand. My favorite scene is when he was changing clothes, and rollerskating around the store in his underwear, with a bridal veil on his head, and he sees Jennifer Connolly standing there and he wipes out in to a LEGGS panty hose display.

Then I love when they are both skating together.

I really like the soundtrack too, I liked the song they slow danced to, and the song they were dancing in the aisle to.

I love what a total Goof Jim is, his Dad keeps trying to throw him out of the house, but he wants to stay. It was so funny. I actually laughed at a movie!!!

I have never seen Frank Whaley in anything ever, does anyone know what else he has been in?

Has anyone else seen this movie?

I saw it. I enjoyed it too. My favorite part was when Jennifer was riding that coin operated horse. Whew! That scene just did something for me! [Smile]

OMG...I just noticed that Isis posted something on the '90s board!!!!!!!!!!!! [Smile] And she liked it!!!!!!!!!!! [Smile]

It did seem like an '80s flick. That's probably because our old buddy John Hughes wrote it.

Did I mention that I really liked that scene where Jennifer was riding that horse! Oh boy.

I love this film......Some people think it is John Hughes worst film. Its my fav. and yes....the horse was AWESOME!. I like how all 3 guys jump up to give her a coin. The soundtrack is awesome...Jellyfish, Betty Boop, Mano Negra, Johnny Clegg....love'em all.

...and Isis.....Frank Whaley...LITLLE MONSTERS....He played the bad guy BOY.

Wow! That's cool Eddie. I would never have remembered that one.

Yeah Bigfoot I liked a 90's movie, but I had to go look at the box to see the date, cause it really felt like the 80's.

I liked the horse riding too...but my favorite part was when Dermont Mulroney tried to climb on the back with her, and fell on the floor!!

That was hysterical.

I love "Jim's" little curl he had going-that was an "80's" hairdo if I ever did see one.

I love when they are eating dinner, his sister is like a gossip queen, and they both are in their 20's living at home, and the way they were going, neither one of them had any intention of leaving, which was so funny.

I loved when they are "messing" around in the tent..and the police man comes to the door, and they roll off the platform and fall on the floor inside the tent, that was funny.

Devo will tell you this is a great movie from the 90's. We often fight over posting the name of it, because it is often asked about on the 80's board.

Bigfoot, JC on a horse....excellent!

Speaking of Career Opportunities, I actually do not live very far from Barry Corbin, who played Officer Don. He lives in Fort Worth.

and Isis...Frank Whaley also plays the part of Robby Krieger in "The Doors." He looks very different though. He isn't sporting the curl.

I am not sure who has the biggest eyebrows Jennifer Connolly in Career Opportunities, or Robert Sean Leonard in My Best Friend is a Vampire????

I've always been a fan of natural eyebrows. That's something I miss from the 80's.

Came very close to buying this film until every review I read (consumer and critic) scathed the movie like it was crime.

I was familiar with Jen before from 'Labyrinth' and Frank Whaley is an excellent actor, often seen in supporting roles in Oliver Stone films, he was also Bret the hapless dealer in ‘Pulp Fiction’. Frank’s defining performance has to be in the excellent satire ‘Swimming With Sharks’ with Kevin Spacey.

[Big Grin] I just keep associating Jennifer with those disturbing scenes from ‘Requiem For A Dream’ (thanks a lot Darren Araonovski you sicko [Wink] )

I knew someone had written about this movie.......I so didn't know it was you miss isis!

I just watched it on cable the other day......hadn't seen it in foooooooorevvvvver. I love Target!

I loved Frank Whaley's character."the town liar" Sorry but even I can say "wooooooah" at Jennifer in the white tank top. She really is naturally beautiful.

It was an ok movie for Hughes. Dermont Mulhroney playing the greasy slimeball was hillarouis.

I was sucked into miss connelly's eyebrows too....just so much like Diane Franklin's. The 80's definatly was a time of catapiller eyebrows.
