This movie I'm unsure of the date, maybe late 80's early nineties. Group of cute hunky surfers have a competition while one guy falls in love with a conservative sort of girl...one of them ditches the other or she gets pregnant or something along those lines!!
I believe it is called something Summer or Summer something!!! AH !
The surfer guys call each other 'brah' and so on....

This probably isn't it but...
There is the movie North Shore.
1989...This surfer guy from either the east coast or mid-west (somewhere that isn't traditionally known for having bred good surfers) He spends the summer out in Hawaii, stays with this local legend surfing guru and his family...Has his share of run in's with the less then welcoming locals who call him a Barney...He meets this Hawaiian (sp?) girl who's from a very traditional strict conservative Hawaiian family (meaning they don't want her dating this white guy from the mainland)...He falls for her..she's initially not interested, her brothers are very protective of her, which leads to more problems for him...She eventually falls for him, teaches him about her culture...He enters a surf contest, local bad boy surfer cheats, causing him to be disqualified...everyone says Brah, etc...
