I like the "suspedy" genre that was mastered by this film's writer/director, the regretably late Colin Higgins, and it easily rivals his better-known Silver Streak. It's easy to see why Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase would hook up again later, as they have genuinely warm chemistry here, and it is nice to see that Chev can play serious if need be without completely sacrificing his roots; got to love his Elwood Blues-level driving skills during the climax("Tony, this is a one-way street!"). And the suspense is great too, with characters popping out of seemingly thin air without warning(although perhaps albinos have been a little too vilified over the years). Got to love the great supporting cast they pulled in too, especially Dudley Moore's turn as Austin Powers's down-to-earth fifth cousin of sorts.

Your thoughts?

I enjoyed it too. I also liked the one with both of them in it where Chevy is a P.I. that gets murdured and comes back as a dog and has to get goldie to help him solve the case. What was the name of that one?

Is it Seems Like Old Times??

There's also another movie he was in called Oh Heavenly Dog.

'Oh! Heavenly Dog' was the one where he was reincarnated as a Dog. But it's Jane Seymour he gets to help him. This film is very nostalgic for me, it's a shame it isn't much good.

'Seems Like Old Times' is a Neil Simon romantic comedy that re-teamed Goldie and Chevy after 'Foul Play'. I like it. Then again, I'm a sucker for Neil Simon's stuff.

I like the term "Suspedy". Both 'Foul Play' and 'Silver Streak' are terrific, it's a shame he didn't do more films like them.

You're right, Logan 5. It was Seymour. I don't know why I was thinking Goldie was in it.
I looked it up on IMDB and saw that Benji was the dog they used in the movie.

I love this one too! I loved the pairing of Chevy and Goldie in this one and Seems Like Old Times. It is a shame that they didn't do more together because they had awesome chemistry.

I saw FOUL PLAY in a movie theater with my friend when I was a little kid and it scared me! I hate to admit it, but it did. That really pale guy ...if I saw him today I think I would STILL get a chill.
I do always remember the Dudley Moore parts the most. Remember that guys apartment? LOL!
I also seem to remember the soundtrack had a lot of Barry Manilow in it. (Yes, I'm a "Fan-ilow!)
