I Keep hearing this song played on the 70's XM radio station all the time, and I couldn't figure out what they were singing about-so I looked the lyrics up. I like their music, they were totally unique...some of their lyrics are really strange though, They sure don't write songs like this any more:

When I think back on all the crap I've learned in highschool
It's a wonder I can think at all
Though my lack of education hasn't hurt me much
I can read the writings on the walls

Chorus:
Kodachrome, they give us those nice bright colours
They give us the greens of summers
Makes you think all the world's a sunny day, oh yeah
I got a Nicon camera, I love to take a photograph
So mama don't take my Kodachrome away

If you took all the girls I knew when I was single
Brought 'em all together for one night
I know they'd never match my sweet imagination
Everything looks better in black and white

chorus

Mama don't take my Kodachrome away, mama don't take my Kodachrome away
Mama don't take my Kodachrome away

Mama don't take my Kodachrome, mama don't take my Kodachrome
Mama don't take my Kodachrome away
Mama don't take my Kodachrome and leave your boy so far from home
Mama don't take my Kodachrome away
Mama don't take my Kodachrome, whew whew, mama don't take my Kodachrome away

Great song! Actually, it's a Paul Simon solo effort, from 1973. Paul and Art Garfunkel went their separate ways in 1970.

The Kodak company nearly threatened to sue Paul because he was using one of their brand names, and then they changed their mind when they realized Paul wasn't bad-mouthing the product. But suprisingly, Paul never let them use the song as a commercial.

ISIS, if there's one Paul Simon album you should have, I would recommend "There Goes Rhymin' Simon".
