I saw a film on video in 1988. It's about a man who is looking for his family in the English countryside after a nuclear war. He survived, with other people by staying in the motor tunnel, they where trapped in after the detonations. This is only talked about and not filmed.
He roams the country fighting bandits and such as he tries to locate his family. The gun fighting scenes had a very realistic, docu feel. The actor plays him like a average joe. I believe this show was shot on video. It may have been part of a series on BBC or something.
Any one that can name tell me the title of this show will be named King or Queen of Sexual Awhereness Week. Goodluck.

Hmm. It's definitely not Threads, there's no tunnel and no gunfighting scenes. It could be:

"Survivors" - No Nuclear explosion though, just a plague:

"Z for Zachariah" - Don't think there's a tunnel, but there are gunfights:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088439/

"The Last Train" - Which is very recent. Has both a tunnel and gunfights:
