It's a very angst ridden movie. Don't think it was ever released to the theatres and if so on a very limited basis. But it was played quite often on HBO in the 80's and is a big time cult classic. It was the first movie ever for Matt Dillon. Has a great 70's soundtrack. Kurt Cobain stated that it was his favorite movie.
So glad to see it's finally coming out on DVD and hope there's some cool features. It's always been a hard one to find on VHS.

Have you ever seen the Keanu Reeves movie THE RIVERS EDGE? It's a lot like that...only OVER THE EDGE came out first. It's about bored teen metalheads in the 70s stirrin up trouble.

Rivers Edge was awesome. Crispin Glover was very good in that one.
