When the 2005 remake of HOUSE OF WAX came out my sister said it sounded alot like a movie with Chuck Connors she had seen in the 70s. I looked on imdb and sure enough theres a movie called TOURIST TRAP so I bought it on half.com on dvd. Not great but not bad. Also unintentionally funny at times (6 foot 10 guy runnin around in drag and telling mannequins to eat their soup).
Anyone remember it?

No, but I am always looking for new stuff that I haven't seen. This may be one worth checking out??

Oh my god mamamia! My friend Greg bought The Tourist Trap when House of Wax came out in theaters. He had been telling me about it for years. I can't believe I never saw it until recently. The only thing that was missing was the sex. I'm sorry, but horror movies of that time needed a little nudity. Just to add to it. Overall though, I thought it was good. You should check it out Jessie.

Watched Tourist Trap (1979) earlier today and i liked it.
Wicked film, those mannequins give me the creeps.
The score composed by legendary Pino Donaggio is awesome.

Tanya Roberts and Robin Sherwood were hot and i was shocked that there was no nudity in the movie.
I mean, it had skinny dipping scene and everything...

The scandi dvd trivia extra tells the story:
"Originally intended to contain female nudity, the script had to be changed
since Schmoeller had been too embarrassed to mention this detail during casting.
When the time came for shooting the lake scene, the naked truth could no longer be hidden,
but alas, it was too late - all the actresses refused."

David, this is not the way to do it [Smile] [Smile]

Anyway, it was a nice, atmospheric little 70s horror movie.
