What can you say about star wars? It's a fantastic film. Probably the best of all time! Although, i preffered it before George Lucas started f-ing about with it, putting in all those odd bits. And the first 3 are far superior to the new ones, but then is that just because I grew up watching them every weekend? Is it nostalgia or are they just not as good now?

Episode 1 was a big blur to me. As for episode 2, I felt that it followed more in the tradtiion of the original Star Wars films. It was much more interesting and had more of that Star Wars feel. The first three will always be superior because they were the first. They were something new and very innovative. But we all know that the young Harrison Ford was the true reason Star Wars did as well as it did. :) I hope that Episode 3 can do a better job than 1&2. I'd like to see how George Lucas's script brings it all together.

Star Wars was ahead of it's time and the other two are 80s movies. That's why they're good. They don't know how to make good adventure movies now because you need that 80s filmmaking to be good. 80s filmmaking means a lot of different things. Basically the feel of an 80s movie.

I remember everyone else in my family and the neighbors had seen Star Wars, except me. I think my parents took me when it came to the cheap theater. It was definitely ahead of its time.

What can we say, the original films just have that special something that you can't quite define, but pull you all the way in to a totally immersive experience.

I have all 3 unedited beauties! (All on VHS)

The 1st one is the official 20th century FOX release (Not digitally mastered)

The 2nd and 3rd are from analogue cable sometime in the 80s...
