Hi Guys, I have not been in on this board for ages. hope everyone is doing good :-)

Speaking of ages, I recently saw Rock of Ages and thought it was a good film. I was surprised with Tom Cruise's singing, he was awesome. Russell Brand & Alec Baldwin were awful.
Anyway, what are your thoughts?

There was a war here... many good posters were destroyed. Then the spammers came like a plague upon us. Now there is only famine...

Kidding of course.

Nice to see you again. Haven't seen RoA, but it looks entertaining enough. Never pictured Tom Cruise as a singer...

Hi Sheena, nice that you came back to say hello.

I haven't seen Rock of Ages either, but I'm not opposed to it. I try to keep an open mind and not let myself get too cranky about newer movies. Even though we all know that 80s movies are better and always will be.

Good to be back Logan 5 & Stiggs :-) The main reason I wanted to watch is film is the music of course. So many great songs from Bon Jovi, Journey, Def Lappard etc. Also helps that Tom Cruise looked super HOT!!

Idk, looks like a really poor representation of the 80s like most movies that try to capture that decade.

This was Arnie's reaction after he saw the film:

Well....caught the last 25 minutes and what I saw was not good, although Cruise was quite hilarious but dont think he was meant to be.

Loving Arnie's reaction to ROA, Bernie Lomax! I wouldn't mind watching ROA, but it will have to be on a weekend when my husband goes away. I seriously doubt he wants to watch Tom Cruise shirtless. I had my doubts about this movie before- I thought it looked more like it was making fun of the 80's and the music.

I have not seen it but do you get the impression that Tom Cruise is supposed to be Axl Rose?

Oh glad you liked it, PGirl. Good to chuck in a bit of ridiculousness now and then [Smile]

Perhaps, and with a pinch of Steven Tyler
