I thought it might be fun to read comments and questions from the internet regarding "Valley Girl". There are quite a few "Valley Girl" fans on The Rewind.. and we have collectively discussed several of these questions at some point over the years.. so let's see what we can come up with as answers.

Remember these are from all over the internet.. so I'll number each of them to help us with attempts to comment or answer a particular thought:

1. When the guys were driving down Hollywood Blvd. with the top down and you see scenes of Mann’s Chinese Theater, Pussycat Theater, etc. what was that song playing? I have a re-issue of "Valley Girl" soundtrack from Rhino (about 8 years old) and that song was NOT on there…..Thanks in advance!

2. What is the name of the song playing when Skip is riding his bike to go (possibly) to hook with the hot mom, but ends up hooking up with the daughter? whats the song, like every soundtrack ever assembled, they always miss the best songs.

3. Why does MGM want to remake the movie? I think profits from Hannibal Cannibal burned holes in their pockets and they want a tax writeoff for a flop. You answer the question. WHY?

4. I’ve looked all over the web, I’d really like to have a copy, no matter how beat up, etc. of the 80s version VALLEY GIRL script.

5. Who the heck is Lyle? Is that Beth’s boyfriend/husband?

6. That whole exchange with Beth and Skip at the pool…what exactly is going on? It seems like Beth wants skip NOW, but then she goes on to say that Suzie is on her way home…why did she bother? Also, what does she mean when she says "plastics"? Does she mean to say "rubbers"?

7. Why did Tommy turn around on Loryn and say she was a lousy friend after he felt her up? I was just confused with that whole exchange.

8. Does anyone know if the first VHS release of the movie in 1983 was by Vestron? And is the UPC code 028485150164?

Also, does this first VHS have the following music that was in the theatrical release? These songs are not on the DVD release.

The Jam - A Town Called Malice
The Clash - Rock The Casbah
Bananarama - He Was Really Saying Something
Men at Work - Who Can It Be Now
Culture Club - Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?

9. This movie was shot between october and november of 82. But i wonder how different times have changed since the filming..

10. Personally, I thought Loryn was mega-hot! Who do you think was the hottest Valley Girl?

11. In the final scene where Randy and Julie are driven away in the limo you can see the limo get on the San Diego Freeway and the Sherman Oaks Galleria is in the background. If you google map the Sherman Oaks Galleria you can go to a ground level view and see the on ramp where the limo entered the freeway. Its kind of cool. You can see the Galleria sign on the building although it’s a different style now. I froze the scene on the dvd and almost perfectly matched the google maps picture up with the scene. Apparently I have far too much time on my hands…

12. I love this movie but the cover art has always driven me crazy. Who IS that girl standing next to Nicholas Cage as it certainly isn’t Deborah Foreman!?

13. I know this is an off-the-wall question but I just watched the movie (yes, again) and I swear I recognized the limo driver’s voice but I can’t place it. It’ll probably come to me later but does anyone know who played the role? Thanks!

14. In the 2:27-long theatrical trailer, there is a list of song performers (at the 2:14 mark) that includes the Blasters. Does anyone know which song by them was in the movie’s theatrical version? Was it "I’m Shakin’," which was released in the early ’80s?

15. If you watch the scene when Randy takes Julie out during the party. If you notice when they are driving around Hollywood, they pass by a couple of movie theaters. The marquees show movies that were released in 1980, An Officer and A Gentleman, and Empire Strikes Back. Valley Girl was supposedly filmed in 1983. That has always bothered me.

16. I’ve gotten most of the music from "Valley Girl" except for the one early on in the film, playing in the background while the girls are at the mall. Any help will be appreciated.

17. Ok–This has been driving me crazy!!!
I bought the special edition DVD the day it came out and included in the easter eggs was an interview with Nic Cage and the director at The Viper Club where the bar scenes were shot (Very Cool!) and also a featurette called "Valley Girl 20 Totally Tubular Years later" with cast and crew interviews.
About a year later I bought what I thought was the very same "special edition" DVD for a friend but those segments were excluded with only the director commentary as an added feature. What gives???

18. In the 1983 movie Valley Girl with Nicolas Cage in it there's this song. It's in the party scene and I don't know the lyrics exact. But, I believe it goes shelly you've got a boyfriend don't let your boyfriend put you down. (I don't know if it goes exactly like that) Does anybody know the name of the song?

19. Besides Valley Girl, What other movie did Deborah Foreman (Julie) and Michelle Meyrink (Suzi) star in together?

<And finally, here's a classic rant that would probably make Crash's The Facts of Life Top 20 list [Big Grin] >

20. I just watched it and, in my opinion, it was very poorly made. I liked some parts of it.. like how the valley girl fell in love with the hollywood guy (and i liked both of the actors) but I couldn’t stand some other parts like:

-How, after being with Randy so long and falling in love with him, all it took was her friends saying that she should get back with Tommy for her to dump Randy and go back to Tommy. It doesn’t make any sense. Sure, whatever.. she wanted to keep her friends. Why couldn’t she just be single, though? She didn’t like Tommy before.. that’s why she broke up with him. After being with someone else so amazing wouldn’t that make her dislike him even more?

-How so many questions were left unanswered: why didn’t the lead girl (i forget her name) ever find out about Tommy and her slutty friend? What was up with the lead girl’s parents? They had only been married last year? And what about that one girl who was always competing with her mom for guys? Her dad died or something? (this may have been explained but i didnt catch it) And what about that guy they were fighting over? I thought he wanted the mom and then it just shows the mom walking in on him and her daughter in bed. What?! They never explained that! Did he just like the mom AND the daughter? And what did the mom have to say about that?

-How Randy tries to get the lead girl back several times and all of them fail but just because he showed up and prom and punched Tommy in the face they’re going to get back together? That makes no sense. She can’t take Randy back because she doesn’t want her friends to hate her.. but it’s okay to take him back in front of her friends AND the whole school?

It was too undeveloped and rushed. Could’ve been way better.

-------------------------------------------------

Anyone else enjoy reading all these questions and comments? [Cool]

Valley thanks for the laughs with this one...there are a few I still would like to know.........#20 just made me laugh so hard!!

Everyone has a right to their view or opinions of a movie, but that's hilarious! For me all those questions the viewer had are easily answered......maybe because i've seen it WAY too many times??

So here would be my answer for said viewer:
Julie couldn't stay single......it's peer pressure man....she wanted her friends to approve, even though she loved Randy.

Loryn didn't tell anyone about Tommy....she didn't want to be looked down on (cause that's what would happen) She even leads to that a little later in the film with the girls.

Julie's parents are hippies!!

Does it ever say what happened to Suzi's dad? they just say many times he's not in the picture anymore and how cool it is to have a young step-mom. But it's set up so well it doesn't need explaining...haha

Skip thought he was hooking up with the mom..........awww poor Suzi and that phone call when Skip isn't even interested in her...........then he realizes it's Suzi and she's cute and she wants him....they're teenagers. (don't let it get me........don't let it get me)

I think you have to laugh and not analyze it!

...........the story line of Valley Girl was not confusing to this girl at all [Big Grin]

ok i'm a geek with too much time on my hands.

So Valley were there responses where you found the questions? are you going to reveal them?

It must feel good to be Valley and know all the answers to these questions off the cuff. [Wink]

In all honesty, the "plastics" question does puzzle me too. Maybe I don't remember it correctly, but what the heck did she mean anyway?

Posted by Muffy Tepperman (Member # 1551) on :

I always assumed the "plastics" line was her way of avoiding saying "rubbers" but that is what she was getting at........the whole uncomfortable not really knowing feeling of that scene I think is what makes it so great! Even their eyes in that one....leaving you going huh?

anyone else's thought?

Posted by Veronica Sawyer (Member # 2221) on :

All of these questions are what make this movie so great...The fact that a low budget romantic comedy from 1982 is being analyzed by all of these people is pretty awesome!

I'm surprised none of those questions mention the "skillish" line!

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Secret Admirer.. I could probably answer most of these questions, but I really wanted to get people discussing and have fun with all.

Muffy is totally on board just throwing out her thoughts!

Posted by Veronica Sawyer (Member # 2221) on :

Oh, and I always assumed that maybe Suzi's dad passed away. And the plastics part...wasn't that a reference to The Graduate? it seemed like she was just trying to get Skip to finally admit that he wanted to hook up with her but didn't want to come and say it or something.

Posted by Muffy Tepperman (Member # 1551) on :

is it from the Graduate? i'd love if someone knows??

and #15 never bugged me.....because lots of movie theaters show second runs....especially movies thatwere as huge as those! Actually as a kid I saw lots of movies on the big screen years later at this theater that showed movies from years before....didn't it take years for a movie to get release on VHS back then? am I right? I also remember they would cost hundreds of dollers to buy.

The answer to #1 is "I La-La-La Love You" by Pat Travers and the Black Pearl. Great song.

Posted by warriorwoman73 (Member # 9316) on :

The answer to #2 is "Eaten by the Monster of Love" by the Sparks - damn good song! They also sang "Angst in My Pants" which played in the very first scene of Suzi's party.

Posted by warriorwoman73 (Member # 9316) on :

I'm gonna live dangerously and answer three of your questions in one post. [Wink]

#16: "Girls Like Me" by Bonnie Hayes
#17: "Shelley's Boyfriend" by Bonnie Hayes
#19: Deborah Foreman and Michelle Meyrink were both in "Real Genius". Deborah's role was small but memorable; Michelle was awesome as the hyperkinetic chick Jordan.

Posted by warriorwoman73 (Member # 9316) on :

P.S. Hottest Valley Girl was, IMO, Julie/Deborah Foreman. Those dimples!

EATEN BY THE MONSTER OF LOVE - SPARKS

5. Who the heck is Lyle? Is that Beth’s boyfriend/husband?

YES. BOYFRIEND.

7. Why did Tommy turn around on Loryn and say she was a lousy friend after he felt her up? I was just confused with that whole exchange.

HE WAS BUMMED WHEN SHE ASKED IF THAT MEANT THEY WERE GOING TOGETHER. HE JUST WANTED TO GET HIS ROCKS OFF AND IF SHE HADN'T SAID THAT...HE WOULD HAVE. HE HAD NO REAL INTEREST IN HER AT ALL.

8. Does anyone know if the first VHS release of the movie in 1983 was by Vestron? And is the UPC code 028485150164?

YES.

Also, does this first VHS have the following music that was in the theatrical release? These songs are not on the DVD release.

The Jam - A Town Called Malice
The Clash - Rock The Casbah
Bananarama - He Was Really Saying Something
Men at Work - Who Can It Be Now
Culture Club - Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?

YES. THEY WEREN'T INCLUDED DUE TO THE RIGHTS NOT BEING GRANTED. THEY WOULD HAVE HAD TO PAY TOO MUCH.

10. Personally, I thought Loryn was mega-hot! Who do you think was the hottest Valley Girl?

SUSIE...DEFINITELY. CUTE, STYLISH AND CURVY

12. I love this movie but the cover art has always driven me crazy. Who IS that girl standing next to Nicholas Cage as it certainly isn’t Deborah Foreman!?

IT'S NOT. IF YOU WATCH CLOSELY IN THE MOVIE IT'S THE SAME GIRL THAT IS RANDY'S EX. THE GIRL HE HOOKS UP WITH AT THE CLUB AFTER GETTING COMPLETELY WASTED. ALL THEY DID WAS TO MAKE HER HAIR BLONDE FOR THE COVER PICTURE. I'M ASSUMING THAT DEBORAH FOREMAN HAD NOT BEEN CAST YET AND THEY NEEDED TO GET IT DONE.

AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN CAME OUT IN 1982 AND WAS A GIANT HIT. IT WOULD NOT BE SURPRISING THAT IT WAS STILL PLAYING IN 83. BACK IN THE 80'S SOME MOVIE THEATERS PLAYED OLDER MOVIES SO THAT IS NOT SURPRISING.

IT COSTS LESS TO PAY FOR THE OTHER FEATURES. THE ORIGINAL RELEASE WAS LIMITED EDITION I GUESS. GLAD I HAVE THAT ONE. THE ONE BIG PROBLEM I HAVE IS WHERE THE HECK WAS DEBORAH FOREMAN AND MICHELLE MEYRINK??? WERE THEY TOO GOOD OR TOO "BUSY" TO DO INTERVIEWS??? =(

SHELLEY'S BOYFRIEND - BONNIE HAYES AND THE WILD COMBO. IT'S ON THEIR DEBUT LP/CD CALLED "GOOD CLEAN FUN". THEY WERE FROM SAN FRANCISCO.

"Is there something I shouldn't know that I should know?"

This is great how everyone is giving feedback!

Just to clarify .. about Suzi's Dad with a Beth quote:

"Well, I am only her stepmother and since Jim died she's been kinda competitive with me."

To confirm..

"I got a little tip for you Skip.. Plastics"

Like most people when I original watched "Valley Girl" .. totally thought Beth was referencing condoms. However, it has since been confirmed that this was actually a tribute to the movie "The Graduate". I prefer to think it had a dual meaning.

Oh and for us "Modern Girls" fans.. the password is "Plastics"

Posted by Secret Admirer (Member # 3574) on :

Well, she was dealing with stocks on the phone right before Skip showed up, so maybe she was giving him a stock tip to buy plastics?

Posted by Secret Admirer (Member # 3574) on :

Oh yeah, and where is this famous "skillish" line in the movie? I've never noticed it.

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Secret Admirer.. the 'skillish' line is controversial because depending on who you talk to about it, you get a different answer about what Julie says to Stacey as they leave the party to get in the car with Randy & Fred.

Deborah Foreman herself states that the line was "Randy is skillish...ok?"

The DVD subtitles say "The rating scale is ok."

Lately whenever I watch "Valley Girl", I keep hearing Julie say: "Valley is the coolest...ok?"

Whatever the answer might actually be.. it just doesn't make much sense ya know. I mean I didn't even know Foreman until after she made the movie.

Posted by Muffy Tepperman (Member # 1551) on :

Ha! Valley!!

I remember you saying Deborah said she said "skillish" and you're right the DVD subtitles say "the rating scale is ok" <<<<it says the same in my old vhs subtitles....I just checked hahaha

and darn..........now I feel like watching Valley Girl all over again tonight........that music just sucks you in!!!

What about #13?? are they on to something?

Posted by Secret Admirer (Member # 3574) on :

Ah yes, so here's what I am hearing:

Stacey: Look at them!
Julie: Well, but Randy's skill looks/is ok.

I don't hear it as an "ok?" question at all.

What do you guys think she says?

Just found some cool info I did not know! Valley may have brought it up before.....

William Zabka:
Boy helping with prom decorations (uncredited)

NO WAY?

Secret-A I can't even say what you think it is fast enough? can you?? "skill looks/is ok" I still can't! haha

Posted by Muffy Tepperman (Member # 1551) on :

ok after playing it a few times now!!

"Randy's skill is ok" or "Randy's skillish ok"

That's ah what i'm hearing......

Posted by Secret Admirer (Member # 3574) on :

Yeah Muffy, there's not much doubt in my mind that she says that. She opens up with "Well", pauses a bit, and then she rushes through five words. I just can't decide if she uses "looks" or "is" in the line. She obviously says it very fast, which is why we cannot understand it easily.

I would say there's no way that is William Zabka in the prom decorations scene.

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Muffy.. that turned out to be just a William Zabka look alike!

But his rival from "Just One of the Guys" Joyce Hyser can be found by the punchbowl at the prom.

Posted by Muffy Tepperman (Member # 1551) on :

There's no way it is....it's on Zabka's IMDB page.....does he maybe not care enough to change it? haha

I totally knew about Joyce [Big Grin]

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Muffy.. the William Zabka look alike was actually a guy named Tom Franz who worked as a production assistant on "Valley Girl".

As far as imdb.. I Iove imdb, but while helping my buddy get his page up to date.. I realized it is only as good as the person managing each individual page.

Thanks for the info Valman........I knew it couldn't be Zabka......I always forget The Rewind main movie page has a locations link now....people have submitted address's and some info for Valley Girl [Smile]

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Veronica.. I'd love to tell you that I took that pic, but you so know that I would have parked my car diagonal in the driveway first!

I've been to The Sherman Oaks Galleria, DuPar's, The Del Amo Fashion Center, The Viper Room, and Casa Vega.. but I never knew the addresses to the houses until recently. So the next time I'm in LA.. I'm totally going to seek them out too.

so.....beth was suzi's stepmom...her dad died, and lyle was the boyfriend. at the party, beth clearly eyeballed skip when he walked through the door, and says suzi has been competitive with HER? haha, so wrong.

I was waiting for Ronnie's input on this topic! [Smile]

I love the girls trying on Beth's lingerie....tying it on and over their heads....I swear I need the captions in that scene to translate the val-talk.

I love the posters on Suzi's bedroom wall.. and the girls in lingerie is pretty okay too.

Oh and once again Ronnie.. Beth can't help it that the phone was for Lyle. [Wink]

Posted by warriorwoman73 (Member # 9316) on :

Ronnie - you summed up the very complicated domestic scenario in the Brent household perfectly. As for Beth's comment to Lyle about Suzi "feeling the need to compete with her since her father died" - what a joke; it was so obviously vice-versa! Beth Brent was a classic cougar. [Smile] A very pretty one at that.

and to top it off, i think beth was the prettiest valley girl in the movie. [Big Grin] ha!!

regarding the special edition dvd, i had bought valley girl for a friend who hadn't seen it a few years back, and that was when i noticed the special features were not the same as mine. it sucks they did it that way. [Frown]

20. -How so many questions were left unanswered: why didn’t the lead girl (i forget her name) ever find out about Tommy and her slutty friend?
i see julie never finds out what happened, but doesn't loryn try to tell her about it, when they are sitting at the diner, talking about picking randy or tommy?

i always wondered about that scene, because it feels like loryn is about to confess what she did with tommy, but it just cuts off after julie says, "i don't know what to do" and loryn replies.."me neither." *end scene* lol

about julie finally running off with randy in the end, even though julie was back with tommy, we know that she wanted to be with randy deep down. when she agrees to go back to tommy, the look on her face at the end of the scene says that it's not what she really wants, but she's gonna go through with it.
so randy tries a bunch of ways to get her back, and she starts to become flattered by it, but still doesn't respond, until the end, at the prom. tommy is promising this big surprise after prom, and julie starts to become annoyed by him. tommy tries to kiss her when they are backstage and she pulls away. and then BAM, randy pops up again, ready to fight tommy off once and for all, and snags julie up. i guess at that final moment, she wasn't going to fight it anymore. and they run off together.

it made sense to me? [Wink]

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

Ronnie.. you did an excellent job of describing my thoughts on Julie's situation.

The discussion with her Dad was an awesome scene and explained how she truly felt towards Randy. However, Stacey basically made Julie choose between Randy and her friends. Personally, I think Suzi and Loryn would have accepted Randy.. it was Stacey that just wouldn't allow Julie to be happy with a Val dude.

Also, when the "Valley Girl" Special Edition DVD came out originally someone on here posted that it was a limited edition and future editions would be stripped down. So I went out that week and bought 2 extra copies... at the time it seemed crazy, but I remember having a VHS tape of "Valley Girl" for years after it went out of print and I had to be extremely careful every time I would rewind it for fear it might break. In 2003 the "Valley Girl" VHS was selling for like $150 on ebay it was so in demand.

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts and answers! As you know, this is a movie I cherish and totally enjoy reading everyone's input.

Found this little posting from a guy named Vance Gentile who claimed to be..

OK an extra - I am in the salmon colored polo shirt in the Sushi Party scene. I love being in this time capsule. Nicholas Cage was intense yet distant, Deborah Foreman was a sweetheart, EG Daily brought her dog and told extras to hold it when she had scenes. Meeting Josie Cotton was cool..

The only thing in this movie I found disapointing is that skip did not shag the hot mum.

She was smokin and IMO the hottest Valley Girl.

don't get me wrong though - very classic movie. I just wish skip nailed the hot mum.

Plastics is definitely a nod to "The Graduate." Dustin Hoffman has just graduated college. A family friend gives him a tip on what to do for his career. "Plastics." He says. The main focus of the movie is Dustin Hoffman's affair with an older woman. So, when she says to Skip "Plastics... The time to act is when the time is right" she is trying to tell him to make his move. When he plays dumb and says "what time is it" she gets exasperated and says "actually it's time for Suzie to be home." Basically, you blew it Skip.

Posted by Valley (Member # 1322) on :

That's for the great input Bandolero!

I totally agree, though I must admit when I first watched "Valley Girl" condoms was my original thought. Also, enjoy the fact that "Plastics" is the password for the club in "Modern Girls".

The movie still would have been made better if Skip slept with the hot mum.

From the moment she takes Tommy back (and he stuffs his face with her hamburger) you can tell she feels she has made a mistake. He has no personality. And as he tries to kiss her backstage at the Prom King and Queen presentation, you can tell she's just not into it, and she has realized that she really loves Randy.

C.T. & Ronnie.. the omission of "Who Can It Be Now?" from the bathroom scene of the "Valley Girl" Special Edition DVD ranks up there with Deborah Foreman not being involved in the interviews on the DVD. I remember going back and trying to flip back and forth from my VHS to my DVD checking for other differences.

And Bandolero.. those are some excellent examples of Julie's regrets for not following her heart with regard to Randy.

"OMG Im Gonna Freak Out And DIE!" Valley is that the house of the Val Party on page 2?.. And is 23727 Sierra Vista that real house's address? Ive always wondered what that house looks like today.. thought maybe it was torn down like The Sherman Oaks Galleria [Frown] That Mall should'nt have been torn down especially since it's been in a couple of 80s movies..It should have been labeled an 80s historical landsite

I am pretty sure it Sherman Oaks Galleria is still standing not that I have ever been anywhere near the U.S, however apparently it has undersone major renovations and looks completely different which sucks.

80's movies it was used in:

Fast Times
Valley Girl
Commando
Back to the Future 2
Innerspace
Chopping Mall

90's movies

T2 - the girl who is being questioned by the T100 even says "I think he said he was going to the Galleria right."

Mother

I am pretty sure it is in Kickin' it old school aswell, which I thought wa a nice touch.

If it wasn't for Fast Times and Valley Girl who knows if it would have been used in any other movie.

Devolution here,

In the extras of the Fast Times DVD, they say it was torn down.

We are DEVO

Yeah I remember watching that too. I am not sure on this but maybe the extras were done during the place being renovated/torn down/revamped.

I dunno.

It is in Kickin' it Old Skool also which is 2007.

Amy Heckerling is famous for getting things wrong too.

How so? It does seem like their memories were somewhat vague (mind you, 20 + years, and they aren't really 'fans' of their own movies per-se - in terms of watching them over and over and learning all the minutia).

Well the thing that really sticks in my mind, which was mentioned on the commentary, however if you are a Zeppelin fan you will have noticed it years before. Kashmir isn't on Led Zep 4. It is on Physical Graffiti. She may not have written the screenplay but as the director she is ultimately responsible for any mistakes, but maybe I was a little harsh. I dunno.

I still reckon that the commentary was done during the rennovations.

The actual address of that house is 23727 Posey Lane in Canoga Park, California Google Map it, then click on "street view" then click on "user photos" where I uploaded screen shots from the movie. You'll see it's the same house. The address is also on iMDB

The Sherman Oaks Gallery has been revamped to an open air mall. The new and (insert antonym for "improved" here) mall was used in Breakin All The Rules.

The older mall has been used in more than a couple of movies. In addition to Valley Girl and Fast Times at Ridgemont High, it was also in Terminator 2, Commando, Innerspace, Chopping Mall, and Phantom Of The Mall, Eric's Revenge

Great info Mountain Mike.. so you registered 4 years ago and finally decided to post?! [Big Grin]

Here's the thread reboot if anyone wants to have some fun with it:

 -

It is doubtful.

"undevelop and rushed"... Lol if thats how somebody feels about Valley Girl no biggie people are intitled to there own views and opinions does'nt mean i have to agree or even respect them and vice versa about my views and opinions [Smile] But for ME ValleyGirl is and will forever be one the thee best movies in history.

So, Deborah Foreman is on Facebook now and she has been answering a lot of questions about her movies as well as posting some awesome behind the scenes pics.

Anyway, I asked her about the mysterious girl on the poster, and she said that it was indeed the actress who played Randy's ex-girlfriend (she had her dyed blonde for the poster). I asked her if that actress was orignally cast to play Julie and she said no. She said that there was a lot of shady things happening with the making of that movie and it wasn't until many years later that she became aware of them (she said it would've been considered bullying today).

She also said that she chose not to participate in the special edition dvd features because she was supposed to be in the interview segment with Nic Cage and Martha Coolidge but at the last minute, they asked her to just be lumped in with the other girls. She felt that as the actress who played the title role, that was a slap in the face (rightly so) and decided not to participate.

You can check out her FB profile here: http://www.facebook.com/deborahlforeman

Thanks Veronica! Finally my question has been answered! After reading that I can understand why Deborah chose not to do it. Randy and Julie are the TWO MAIN characters. It was stupid of the people who produced the extras to not have her and Nic do that interviews together. It would have been great to see those two sitting there across from Martha and trading stories back and forth about this movie that we all love so much.

One other question I have on the interview extras was this; where was Michelle Meyrink?(Susie) Couldn't they find her? Is she still alive? What's the story?

Posted by Zigyma7ik (Member # 12351) on :

I've never seen this movie.
