If you are a fan of Road House and/or boxing, then you will like this movie.

I've always been a big fan of it. The bare knuckle fighting is brutal and realistic.

Matthias Hues (as Rhino) is a big mofo, and Jorge Rivero (as CJ Thunderbird) pushing 50 at the time is in great shape as well. They battle it out a couple of times in illegal bare knuckle fights.

Rhino had killed CJ's friend in an illegal (aren't they all) bare knuckle battle. We never see it or know who this friend is, but does it doesn't matter. CJ befriends local hustler Punchy (played by Edward Albert, good actor) as gets laid also by Punchy's old girlfriend(played by Brenda Bakke from Death Spa and Hardbodies 2), but she in now shacked up with the illegal fight promoter? too much to keep up with.

Buzzsaw from the Running Man shows up as some half-man/half-ape with fur glued to his body, whom you have to defeat to earn your freedom from jail.

Donīt know if this was released here.
All i can find is this ī79 flick called Day of the Assassin aka Fist Fighter
which also features Jorge Rivero and was directed Brian Trenchard-Smith.

But i have a feeling that iīve seen the Finnish cover art somewhere!

no, that's not it.

This was directed by Frank Zuniga, he also directed a 1983 film called Heartbreaker that I haven't seen. It stars Apollonia and Miguel Ferrer.
need to check that out also.

Need to bump this as I just watched it again, and it's still awesome!

I know there is a region 2 DVD, and a newer region 2 DVD having it teamed up with the Dolph Lundgren film Cover Up.

I remember seeing this movie as a part of a double feature back home. I still look for this film everywhere I go. Sadly, it was never released in North America in DVD format. I know of a place that sells a ripped copy but I refuse to buy it.
