Veronica mentioned this idea to me a few weeks ago, but is anyone else up for a Friday The 13th movie night?  I'm going to a concert with friends tonight, but my hope is a late night Friday The 13th viewing party!

The concept is very simple, just pick your favorite "Friday The 13th" movie part, and then do your best to watch it tonight or this weekend.

   -

I'm definitely planning on watching part 2 with Amy Steel and Kirsten Baker.  I'm usually more about the original when it comes to movies, but I actually saw part 2 first and didn't see the Kevin Bacon original until years later.  Now I know why Veronica isn't a "Footloose" fan..

       - Friday The 13th

Which part do you dare watch?   [Eek!]

Oh and tell us why you are picking that particular part to watch...

Good idea, Valley!

I'll try to watch parts I & II tonight. I haven't seen any Friday the 13th movies since the 90s probably, so starting at the beginning seems like a good idea.

I think I'll watch "The Final Chapter" a/k/a Part IV tonight.

EPIX channel had parts 1 through 6 on last night, until dawn.

I watched 1 through 3, before falling going to sleep when part 4 started. that was about 2am eastern time.

I ended up going to my family's cabin in Wisconsin this past weekend and we had a scary movie night on Friday. Watched part 2 and then a movie from the 90's called "Urban Legend." Always fun to watch those movies when you're in an isolated location and there's lightning outside!

Great story Veronica..

I think they should do Camp Crystal Lake movie nights every Friday the 13th.

has to be part 3 for me,for the simple reason being as much as i really enjoy most of the other entries in the series this one just sticks out as being the most cheesy and fun of the lot.

 -

thought dana kimmell was pretty decent as the lead heroine chris higgins and as much as people rave on about kane hodder in the part of jason my own personal fave was part 3s richard brooker.

 -

the charachter of shelly as played by larry zerner was slightly annoying but i think this seemed more intentional than anything else and gives the audience the added pleasure of the thought of when jason finally gets his hands on him.

 -

there's also some really cool kills in this one with the standout for me being the death of andy as played by jeffrey rodgers who while walking around upside down on his hands gets given a very painful centre parting from mr vorhees.

watching this film in the theatres in its true polarised 3-d format must have been something else, but sadly i've never had that experience and have had to settle for paramounts 3-d dvd version with the red/blue anaglyph glasses.

 -

the whole experience was quite headache inducing with quite bad ghosting of the image(a lot of reviewers also stated this) and i found very few of the 3-d effects had any real pop to them.

the theatrical experience sounds so much better as stated in this review i found from imdb

A review of the 3-D theatrical version, 17 April 1999

Author: Shawn Watson

Last night, the Cameo Cinema in Edinburgh, screened an ultra-rare showing of Friday the 13th Part 3 in all it's gore-splattered 3D glory. The cinema was packed, the screening sold out and the audience absolutely loved it. Every scare worked, the 3D effects leaped right off the screen and lovingly poked us in the eye and when the film was over it got the longest applause I've ever seen a film get. For those pretentious cynics who think that the Friday the 13th films are not great then there's nothing like a 350+ audience to prove you wrong.

Since this film was in 'polarised' 3D (see-thru glasses instead of a red-blue blur)then it's not possible to transfer the effect to DVD. Besides, nothing beats seeing this on the big screen with Jason's face 10-feet tall and his massive hands reaching out for you. If there is EVER a 3D screening of this then you really ought to go see, even if you have to sell your own grandmother for a ticket.

I watched part 1 this morning! Always good to see Kevin Bacon in an early role! His kill scene was pretty unique and shocking at the time!

Prolly watch part 2 tonight.

i always enjoy part 3 the most,i really like parts 1 - 4,also to a lesser extent parts 5,6 and 7.

it's part 8 jason takes manhattan and the direct sequels that followed i have a few problems with .

where as the remake which i saw at the cinema i rather enjoyed,i thought it was none to bad for a reboot!

this has thrown me a bit j2me it didn't even register with me it was friday the 13th.

that's it,i was going to watch ninja (2009) tonight, but horror night it is!
