Adventurer/surgeon/rock musician Buckaroo Banzai and his band of men, the Hong Kong Cavaliers,
take on evil alien invaders from the 8th dimension. (from IMDb)

Yesterday i watched this amazing, wild and crazy flick!
During the first 15 minutes i was lost like a rabbit in New York City streets
but after that i started to like it more and more.

This movie features a huge cast and some fantastic old school special effects.
Starring Peter Weller, John Lithgow, Ellen Barkin, Jeff Goldblum, Lewis Smith,
Christopher Lloyd, Clancy Brown etc. etc.
Weller is supercool and Barkin sooo sexy!

The credits mention a sequel, Buckaroo Banzai Against the World Crime League,
which was never made becuse the flick bombed at box office.
The competition against the likes of Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
and Ghostbusters was just too much.

Anyway, i like it. Any other fans?

I have heard of this but I haven't seen it.

I wouldn't mind viewing it if I had the chance to do so and would obtain a copy of it.

Apart from the falling asleep, my memories were the same as yours; rented it, didn't like it, remember nothing about it but the box art, and felt confused when I heard it was a cult classic.

I can't believe it! I thought I was the only one who didn't get this one. I fell asleep the first time around as well. Second time I made it through, but it didn't really impress me. Sorry, Atomik, don't mean to be a downer in your thread!

I like this alternate Buckaroo Banzai blu-ray art. Arrow Video summer release.
