The discussion of the Mark Harmon movie "Worth Winning" reminded me of...

"The Deliberate Stranger" starring Mark Harmon is a must see for any 80's fan. This made for tv movie is based on a true story and Harmon is excellent as the ruthless Ted Bundy. Think of him as a nice looking, well mannered guy that turns out to be a serial killer.   It will definitely creep you out a little because Mark Harmon usually plays somewhat likeable guys in most of his movies.

But the best part of "The Deliberate Stranger" is the cast in my opinion. Frederic Forrest (Valley Girl) and John Ashton (Some Kind Of Wonderful) are both outstanding as the detectives trying to solve the case. Then throw in Glynnis O'Connor and best of all one of my favs..  Deborah Goodrich (April Fool's Day/Just One Of The Guys) and this 4 hour movie becomes very intriguing for 80's movie buffs.

Oh and I found the poster above that appears to be of the real Ted Bundy.  Now this thread is officially creepy...

Valley i'm intriqued I love me some good 80's tv cheese......docudrama. Harmon comes across so suave.....in everything even NCIS. Did you find the vhs?

Bundy lived and killed around where I live....people actually bring it up quite often in conversation. He was the attractive everyday looking guy right? Scary........but I'd love to see Shoop as a killer.

Harmon as a serial killer?!
U gotta be kidding [Smile] [Smile]

But hey, it looks like an interesting flick with a very strong cast.

For me John Ashton is always "John Taggart" from Beverly Hills Cop first,
then "Cliff Nelson" from SKoW and "Marvin Dorfler" from Midnight Run.

I would like to see this. Seems like besides "Summer School," this is the movie Mark Harmon is most known for.

Veronica...

Ted Bundy's lawyer Polly Nelson characterized the film as "stunningly accurate" and said it did not portray anything that was not a proven fact. She praised Mark Harmon noting how he reproduced Bundy's rigid posture and typically suspicious expression.

Mark Harmon was actually nominated for a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Ted Bundy.
