I'm a big Michael Keaton fan and this is one of his funniest early roles. Movie has its flaws but Keaton is hilarious as usual whilst Henry 'The Fonz' Winkler successfully plays against type as a mild mannered and unassuming clerk. Both work the night shift at the city morgue, but when Keaton's manic character gets a few entrepreneurial ideas (all recorded on his tape recorder, of course) things take a turn for the wild and unpredictable.

Ron Howard directs, Shelly Long and Gina Hecht co-star though Keaton & Winker run amok as "love brokers" and end up creating one of the most off-the-wall double acts of the 80s. Screwball comedy at its best.

Michael Keaton was brilliant in "Night Shift".. he was over the top in perfectly fitting way. I think as a kid that grew up watching "Happy Days", it was just extremely difficult to watch The Fonz as a mild mannered geek in "Night Shift". Which in a way reflects on Henry Winkler's gifted abilities as an actor. Overall, it was a fun movie and I need to track it down to watch again.

Just watched Night Shift the first time after some 20 years.
It still rocks!

Love that early 80s feeling, love Keaton and Winkler, love the ladies of the night.
Lots of cool co-stars plus Kevin Costner (3 seconds), Shannen Doherty (5 seconds) and Joe Spinell!

The Quarterflash theme tune is great and i also like the Al Jarreau montage song "Girls Know How"

Night Shift by Quarterflash

If you havenīt seen this comedy classic, check it out asap!

i haven't seen this one in years but can remember liking it a lot!

henry winkler was here in the u.k a couple of months back in my home county of kent visiting high schools talking to the kids about dsylexia a condition he has suffered from all his life (my wife suffers badly from it also) and from what i saw of him on the local news channels and chat shows he comes across as one really great guy!

any celebrity that takes time off to talk to disadvantaged school kids and you could tell he was enjoying it definitely gets the fonzie two thumbs up from me!

Still a classic movie and Michael Keaton just chews up the scenery with his non-stop antics.

I own both Gung Ho! and Touch and Go.

Both are good movies but not classics like Night Shift or Johnny Dangerously.
If you are a Keaton fan, get them.
