I realise that this post is a little OT, so I hope the mods don't ban me for it [Wink] [Big Grin]

As part of ongoing developments, I have introduced a major new feature at the Rewind that hopefully will please everyone... I wonder if anyone can find it..? [Smile]

It won't be hard to find, but if no-one does, I'll post more info later.. Meanwhile lets see if anyone finds it and what they have to say.. [Smile]

I realise that this post would have been better in the social club, but figured more ppl would read it if it was posted here [Smile]

Hey Nick...is it the Site Stats...or has that been there all along...and I'm just blind. I'm unable to click into any of the info yet, but looks like some cool stuff....

No, site stats have been there for ages [Wink]

Tip: Imagine that you've never visited before and you're wanting to look up some of your old favorites... [Smile]

A change in the Browse Movies feature? Explore Movies ..first time I noticed that feature.. but it appears to be the old 'Browse Movies'.

Awesome Nick!! I'm one of those that missed having the scroll list of movies on the left side of the screen......It's awesome!

I agree, Valley. I have noticed this feature as well.

What is distinctive about it, then?

Nick, could either you or somebody else please explain?

It seems that now you can browse movies by title, by genre or by year.
I like it!

We just need much more movies reviewed...

First prize seems to rightfully go to... Muffy! Yay! [Smile]

Thats right, for all those who disliked the new design because you could no longer just refer to the list of movies on the left and click to go there.. The Rewind is going all Web 2.0...

"Browse Movies" from the homepage or any movie pages etc no longer takes you to a page where you can start browsing.. It opens a Web 2.0 style menu that allows you to navigate straight to a new movie immediately - just like the old frames based left hand side menu on the old site. You can still filter by year or genre if you want, all in the popup.. [Smile]

"Explore Movies" is a new link that takes you to the "old" Browse pages...

This is just the start.. But a big step in technology terms (for me anyway! [Wink] ) so it would be great if everyone can try it out and let me know if there are any significant problems.. If things dont work as expected, try doing a browser refresh on the page you're on.

The next step will be that iRewind submissions / contact etc will similarly be possible without ever leaving the page you're on.

All this is leading to the new "facebook" style technology experience that will allow the Movie Locations web site discussed in the "Movie Locations" thread [Smile] but the navigation inconvenience had been gnawing at me ever since I decided to abandon frames, so its great to have that fixed.. Another update: The iRewind help/contact/update module is now using the same web2.0 syle interface.

Those regular updaters will hopefully appreciate not having to leave the page to submit updates etc.

If ppl could try the "contact us" links, update links etc and report back on their impressions, I would be grateful...

You *may* have to do a browser refresh on the page if it doesnt work properly as your browser may be caching the old version.

That is all.. Engine room out... [Smile]
