One of the greatest shows EVER. I remember when Nickelodian would show this multiple times in a day. It was funny, it was bizarre and sometimes pushing boundries. Sometimes there wouldn't be some jokes that I got then when I watch them now I get it. There is one episode where an indian kid and black kid are talking about why it must suck to be white. There is no way that sketch would make it on a kids show today. There is also an episode that Nick stopped showing after one time about adoption.

This show has never been released on DVD but it's pretty easy to find them. I have some of the 1979 episodes that weren't shown on NICK and it was almost a different show with musical segments and you could call in to win prizes. At one point it seemed like the show would make it to DVD. Nick started it's rewind DVD collection and around 2005 announced plans for DVD set. It was even confirmed on Christine McGlade blog saying she had been contacted to do record commentaries and do other things for bonus material. But then later in that year it was announced that the set had been put on hold indefinetly. That was the last ever heard about You can't do that on television on DVD.

I have downloaded the entire series... talk about memories... I remember having the biggest crush on Moose when I was a kid. Cant believe they got away with calling her ugly all the time on that show.

You should wikipedia info on her, I cant find it right now, but there were lots of cool stories like during her punk phase she had to wear a wig

True, this was a great show. I don't remember a lot because I was very young but I'd love to watch it now.

This is random but did they have an episode or like a movie special about some aliens taking over the set? I remember it was on the set of the show but don't really remember too much about it? Any help on that would be great!

The one that sticks with me: Rambo Kills Everybody; he even mows down the theater audience. And who couldn't love those fake preemption notices at the beginning of each program ("'George Bush Shoots the Wrong Quayle' will not be seen tonight...")? I'm all in favor of a Classic Nickelodeon Channel if they'd be willing to do so.
