Michael Felsher, cult-movie buff and former employee of Anchorbay Entertainment (now head of Red Shirt Pictures) is hard at work on a new Night of the Creeps Special Edition DVD. Mr. Felsher spearheaded the extremely successful Monster Squad and Pumpkinhead 20th Anniversary DVDs in 2007/ 2008 and is working closely with director Fred Dekker in the hopes of making the new "Creeps" DVD a huge hit with fans. The new "Night of the Creeps: Thrill Me Edition" will be avaliable in the U.S. in October 2009. [Cool]

I heard this a few weeks ago and was initially excited, but no Blu-ray in the works it seems.

Oh I'm still buying it, but I have the HD version saved on my DVR, so I want the DVD for any extras and the fact that my HD-DVR could break at any moment. I'll probably keep watching it on my DVR because of the HD pic even if I buy the DVD.

Apparently there is a possibility of a Blu-Ray according to Fred Dekker in an article on Ain't It Cool News

So there is hope!!

It did look great when it aired in HD a while back [Cool]

Thanks for the glimmer of hope Wolfman! "Night of the Creeps" is such an underrated gem.

The event of the year is near!
Here´s the Blu-Ray and dvd cover art:

No original cover art which is sad (lookin´ pretty awful to tell the truth)
but this is better than nothing.

I've given up complaining about bad cover art and have just learned to accept it as a sad reality. Frankly, they can slap together whatever hackneyed photoshop mess they want, as long as they just get these movies out on DVD & Blu-ray already. DVD has been around for 13 years now and the market is well past the saturation point yet we still have a long list of unreleased '80s gems. At this point I'm happy to get them at all.

The cover art sucks compared to the theatrical posters... fortunately the movie is the important part [Big Grin]

I have pre-ordered the blu-ray and it should be delivered on the release day! I have a feeling this one may be difficult to track down in most stores. [Frown]

The DVD cover doesn't look too bad, if you ask me. When I lived in Bendigo, then I rented it from Roundabout Video. I watch it on YouTube, too.

I pre-ordered from amazon.com when I found it in my gold box daily offer. With the extra 5% discount, the price was $16.62. Also signed up for a free amazon prime trial and they say the movie will be delivered on the day of release [Cool]

Where have ya'll been buying this? I went to Best Buy, Target and Wal-Mart and got shut down! Is Amazon my only hope?!?! I needs this!

Doesn't come out til Tuesday the 27th cindymancini [Smile]

This is going to be a long week!

I suspect Best Buy is the most likely to have it in store (Target and Walmart never seem to have classics like this [Roll Eyes] )
