I have one of the coolest video rental places in my town. Everything you can imagine on DVD and VHS complete with stuck up film school wannabe clerks [Smile]

So I'm there last night to notice the Night of the Creeps VHS had a sticker on it "deposit required"

I asked.......they require a $50 deposit to rent it. funny eh? a great horror movie and I still wonder why it hasn;t been released. Fred Dekker other classic The Monster Squad got a release?? [Smile]

I so hope my DVR never breaks. I have "Night of the Creeps" saved on it in HD and it is incredible in comparison to my barely playable VHS tape.

Muffster, my thought on the $50 is because it is out of print and your film school wannabes know it. Kind like "High Fidelity" for movies....ya think?

Devolution here,

I am taping it on to a DVD today. It's cool that I can do that...

Note Night of the Creeps has been on Channel 1008 on Time Warner Cable Free Movies on Demand.

WE are DEVO

Man, all these years I have never seen it played on TV. Last year I reached out and got a copy. A disgrace it's not on official DVD.

So Muffy, did you cough up the 50$ deposit? [Wink]

DUH Valley I know thats why there is a $50 deposit haha [Razz]

nope Riptide actually thanks to Miss Mancini I have a DVD copy for now.

I just thought the deposit was cool........they actually know it is a great movie that they can't afford to loose. [Smile]

Muffy,

Good to here from you again...

I really need to DVR more of these movies in HD while they are still showing them. The problem is, I can't afford a Blu-Ray recorder yet. Some day they will be cheap enough. Till then I burn them to "standard" DVDs. It's better than nothing... [Smile]

I bought it on DVD at Monster Mania when I was there with Cindymancini, and I paid $10 for it.

I also bought it on dvd for about $10. Great quality picture and all artwork included. Who needs official releases? I don't. [Wink]

I caught this one on the hdnet movie channel a while back. I feel fortunate to have this classic in HD particularly since it isn't even available on dvd!

The alternate ending is pretty neat too (don't click if you haven't seen the movie):

That clip is from a sci-fi channel airing (if you look at the bottom right corner you can see the old sci-fi channel logo they attempted to crop off).

Would be nice to see a special edition dvd with all the extra footage/alternate ending.

That's a hoot that the video store wanted a $50 deposit [Smile]

Wish I still had a store that rented VHS period... [Frown]

I encouraged my video store to take out this kind of insurance for 'Howard The Duck' but dud they listen? [Wink]

I've never seen this movie as I was never into horror movies (besides 'The Shining' which is the last word in 80s horror) looks like you guys love it, so I may have to check it out some day.
