Hi kata....you are looking for...."Streets of Fire" (1984)

Awesome movie with Diane Lane as Ellen Aim and Michael Pare as Tom Cody. Incredible soundtrack.

I just saw this movie the other night. I got it on DVD.
I remember Streets of Fire being advertised in 1984 but I never got to see it.
I loved the music, especially "Tonight is What it Means to be Young".
Back then vinyl records were still around, and I had gotten a copy of the soundtrack. I am not sure what happened to it.
Diane Lane really looked good in this movie and played the part of a rock star really well.

I hear they have made sequel with Pare, but not Lane.

I remember when i was in 7th or 8th grade
there was a lecture against school violence in my school.

They showed parts of Streets of Fire movie and told that "this
ainīt real life".
"Nothing happens to these guys when they hit and kick each other"
Then they showed some ugly real life pictures what really happens when someoneīs been hit.

I thought, "Of course it ainīt real life, itīs
a d**n movie!!??"

Just something from my memory bank.. [Roll Eyes]

Yeah, we had to watch silly movies in school, too! Red Asphalt II comes to mind...it was something we had to watch in drivers ed so we would get scared that if we drove poorly, we would be splattered all over the highways. Lemme tell ya, the streets of L.A. are no place for timid drivers, they should have been showing us Mad Max! [Razz]

I always did wonder what ever happened to Red Asphalt I, and if there was a Red Asphalt III for the generations who came after mine.

I remember the first time I saw Fire with Fire. I was in 8th grade and they showed it to us in Study Hall. I still love it to this day.

Now that I think about it, why would they show this movie, in school, to a bunch of 13 year olds? An odd choice I think, but I'm glad they did.
