I am trying to figure out the name of a sci fi movie that I watched as a little girl. I'm pretty sure it was made in the 80s. I may be piecing together memories of several movies. Here's what I remember from it. And no, it's not ANY of the TREMORS movies.
I remember a car/truck being dragged underneath the ground. Later someone finds it b/c the radio is on. The person/people dig at the ground and uncover the headlights of the vehicle as they are on and are pointing up towards the sky.
I also remember that the ground swirls and something sucks people underneath to their death.
A young boy (and perhaps his family) in the movie is sucked underground (maybe). There are creatures or machines or something underground that are responsible for sucking people and things beneath. The boy and family eventually end the movie running out of a tunnel underground to escape these creatures that have been taking people.
At some point in the movie, there are lights in the distance signifying something...
I have no idea who starred in, directed or produced the movie. I'm driving myself crazy trying to figure it out!
